Our marriage did not work. I am the USC and we mutually agreed to end things. Now my ex-wife is lifting conditions on her own and has asked me to write a letter of support to show that our marriage was in good faith, which it was. I am willing to help her with this but I'm not sure what to say or what kind of information the USCIS is looking for. Can anyone share their experience or maybe an example of a letter? Do I go into the details and explain why things didn't work out? Or do I simply state that the marriage was bonifide and leave it at that?

Just affirm that you and she were legitimately interested in spending a life together; how you met and married with that intent in mind. You can mention how you resided together for "x" time and that unfortunately you learned that married was not the right way to spend your respective lives. You can end your letter with a statement to the effect that you know that your wife had bonfide intentions upon entering the marriage, that it is ashame things didn't work out for you together, but you hope she will continue to reside in the USA or wherever she chooses, and find happiness in the future.
