Did I ever tell you my garage sale story?

Well, one perfect Spring Saturday morning I was out for a walk with my friend when I spied a garage sale at someone's house. The stuff was all in her garage so I rummaged through everything.... picking up stuff and making comments on how ugly some of the pictures were and how I couldn't believe some of the things some people thought they could sell in a garage sale. And then I spied a soft and comfy chaise longue, so I went up to the woman and asked her how much she wanted for it. She said "Well, I'm not actually having a garage sale. I'm just cleaning up." :o:blush:

That explained the funny looks. But we laughed so hard we were crying.

I got the chaise longue for $5.00.

hehehehehehe, that is funny!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

My plans for the week-end: Get better. Wednesday they said they would get the lab results in 48 hours saturday....but 48 hours should be today right ? Hopefully they call me today and I can get started on some medication and be good to go back to work on Monday :( sigh

How are you feeling, Mephys? Did you get your results?

Thanks for worrying about me.

So to make a story short I have been having severe GI problems since august 15th. My blood tests are normal, other samples tests are normal as well. No parasites or no salmonella, Ecoli. etc.

So Friday after I got my normal results, I called the phamarcist I used to deal with in Canada (and my mom and stepdad still do) for the past 15 years. He's great. So pretty much my issues right now is that I have very painful cramps, and I feel bloated all the time. (Sorry trying not to be TMI) He told me Friday to try that Imodium advanced with medicine for cramps in it, which I did.

So I am still having a lot of painful cramps right now, been all week-end so far. I called him back at lunch time today and he says for 10 days + and nothing is going away that I should go see my doctor again and have further tests, that everything I did was the right thing to do and it should have been done by now.

I have been researching and came up with IBS : Irritable bowel syndrome.

ALL the symptoms described are what I have been having all week. ALL of them except constipation. I am making an appointment to my family doctor for Tuesday to have a follow up and see what else he can do.

Meanwhile I am going back to work tomorrow, I am not going to the bathroom every 10 min anymore which is an improvement, so I think I can make it for one day, and I'm off tuesday and will go see my doctor.

To add to the great buys discussion: Last week, on one of our trips to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for one of Anna's appointments we decided to stop in at one of our favourite thrift stores...Goodwill. We've been searching for a rice steamer. Well, we didn't find a rice steamer but we did find a Krups coffee/cappuchino/espresso machine for $6! We also found a quilt rack/shelf thingie to place on the wall. It was painted and fortunately it's the colour that goes with our décor. We've been wanting to display our Wedding Blanket...this fits the bill perfectly!

Next trip to Goodwill: We've got a ton of stuff to donate now that we've really settled in our new place. Of course, we're still searching for a rice steamer...and a couple of bookcases....

This weekend for Labor Day weekend that is, I'll be flying into Destroit and driving across the border to Windsor to visit my buddies. So I haven't been to Canada for over 2 years, so this will definatly be a culture shock I'm sure with things. I may not even understand Canadian when they speak to me (ha ha).

So it'll definatly be interesting, other then drinking a hell of a lot of beer (They have MGD now in Canada yay), might wander around the town a bit too and check out old things from when I used to live there. Definatly going to be strange being away from there for so long...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...
