now im working on the I131, i know its free is we file for it with the aos. but my wofe does not have any plans to leave the counrty right now, should we still apply for this? we wanted to go to vietnam some time next summer but that is nothing solid, and it looks like when we file the i131 we have to give them dates and such. should i file the I131 and just guess at the dates?? hopefully by next summer she will have her GC, that was what i was planning on.

Good morning Don; you don't have a put a date in if you don't want to and it's really up to you if you want to file the I-131. It doesn't hurt, you never know if an emergency may pop up in Vietnam (not that it may, but). It's FREE, so why not. Best wishes.

IMHO it's always best to have it. You never know when an emergency might arise and necessitate a trip out of the country and it's far better to have it in hand than to have to make an infopass appt to try and get Emergency AP. Besides, as the poster above stated, it IS free. :)
