Gooood morning :) I hope that everyone is having a great Friday and that your weekends are relaxing and joyful!!

We'll be running around getting last minute school things for the kindergartner that starts on Monday, Ramadan meal purchases, and then off to another classic car show.....

My Uncle is obsessed and has gotten my son into it as well... Classic cars really aren't my thing but it makes him happy so I concede... Here's a picture from one that we went to two weeks ago (he thinks he's bigger than he really is!! lol )

Ok he and Lexi are just too adorable not to marry. I think an arranged marriage is very much in order!

LOL He's really starting to notice girls... I thought he was supposed to still be doing the "girls are yucky thing" But he's not like that at all.. Instead he's always flirty and sweet with the girls .... Isn't he too young for this???

LOL

Im serious when I call that dog Houdini...he can even get out of those stake things that you clip to his leash. We have fenced in back yard and he squeezes through the slats in the fence. My neighbor's kids bring him home all of the time. He normally runs down to my sis's house which is 6 doors down. Ayman doesn't have any attachment to him and probably would rather see him gone so he just doesn't go there with him at all.

I forgot to add... I'll have him start working now on building the flat and saving to buy furniture for her... What is her taste, Jackie? lol

Morning all.

Kelly that is exacly why Simo will never let me have a dog. He doesn't want them using the bathroom in the house and he hates them licking him. My mom has a cute mini poodle and he freaks when she gets too close to him or Ayman or if she has an accident. How in the world do you get Zaid to sleep all night? I cannot for the life of me get Ayman to sleep. He has now gone from waking once to twice at night. It's driving me insane, I am so sleep deprived. However he now has a case of Thrush, so I'm wondering if that is why he's waking and being so crabby.

Tasha I hope your hubby's EAD or GC comes thru soon.

Aimee congrats on Badr coming. I hope he arrives safely.

No plans for the weekend except trying to finally get our house in order from moving 3 weeks ago.

Noura can you send some homemade bread my way?? yum

I went through a thrush thing with Aaron when I was nursing and it was a mess!!! The doctor gave us RX but they didn't seem to clear it up and then I found Grapefruit seed extract and it worked soooooooo wonderfully! Cleared it up fast, kept it away, and was all natural... Just thought this might help if you don't get any results from something the doctor gives you!

If you or your infant contract thrush and present yourself to your Pediatrician, you are likely to be sent home with a prescription for Nystatin. It is the most commonly used medication when dealing with thrush. There is a liquid medication for giving to the baby, and a cream that can be placed on your nipples. Other treatments used are Gentian Violet and Diflucan.

My reservations with beginning with the above medications are that the Nystatin liquid contains sugar to make it palatable enough that baby will swallow it. However, yeast feeds on sugar. This may be the reason why it is often not effective. Gentian Violet is effective, but stains skin purple for several days. I have some lovely photos of my twins with purple faces! Diflucan is very effective, but can cause intestinal distress in mom and/or baby. For these reasons, I prefer to begin with Grapefruit Seed Extract as the first line of defense. I have found that the use of Grapefruit Seed Extract as recommended almost always brings rapid relief and an elimination of the yeast imbalance.

Grapefruit Seed Extract is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial compound synthesized from the seeds and pulp of grapefruit. It is an extremely potent and effective broad-spectrum bactericide, fungicide, antiviral and antiparasitic compound. Tests have shown that GSE is dramatically more effective than Colloidal Silver, Iodine, Tea Tree Oil and Clorox bleach against five common microorganisms. In studies performed by Dr. John Mainarich of Bio-Research Laboratories in Redmond, WA, samples of each of the common antimicrobials or sanitizing agents were evaluated for effectiveness against Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi, Streptococcus faecium and E. coli. The other antimicrobials tested were considerably less effective than the GSE.

GSE is extremely effective in the treatment of thrush. I also find it to be the easiest place to start. If used diligently, it typically will clear up thrush within a couple of days.

Wow thanks Ash for that info. The nurse who called me back last night told me to swab milk of magnesia in his mouth and give him some tylenol for the pain. Now, how/why would that work for thrush?? Where do you find Grapefruit Seed Extract? I would much rather use something more natural that is effective.

My husband always joked that even when he was in El Jardin de Infantes aka kindergarten, that he was the biggest flirt...that he loved to look and even sneak in a hug or a kiss with the little girls. :luv::luv::luv:

No problem girl! I just remember how bad it got with Aaron and then with nursing it started to affect me also  And they gave us the Nystatin and I could not figure out why every time it seemed to be under control, it would flair back up again.. Then my Aunt who is an RN told me about the sugar in that medicine to make the baby want to swallow it, and how sugar is a hotbed for yeast..... :bonk:

I did order mine from the internet as I was not successful in finding it around town. Some of the health food/ herbal stores will carry it. But I got it from a website and bought it in large bottles - Even after the thrush cleared up I found lots of other uses for GSE - It's a really great natural cleaner/disinfectant and it will even pull certain hard to get stains out of clothing!!

I would try calling some of your local health food "granolie" stores to save yourself a trip down there, but if nothing else the site I bought it from was :

http://www.vitacost.com/NutriBiotic-GSE-Li...PF-728177010010

The Vitamin shoppe and tons of other sites have it in different sizes. Just google "GSE" or Grapefruit seed extract and a lot of things will come up. Many of the sites can over night or ship fairly quickly.

But just remember it's really powerful stuff and it only takes a measure of drops to get results. It's not expensive either, ranging from $6.00 to $15.00 for some of the larger sizes. Depending on your RX plan, that's cheaper than the co pay for a lot of medicines (including Nystatin or Diflucan if you are nursing)

Glad that I could help and I hope the bambino is feeling better soon !!
