K1/K3 filing simultaneously

We are a Danish/American married couple just putting the final touches on our K1 and K3 applications. According to our lawyer, we have ample documentation of our relationship and there are no real obstacles in the way (or as the Dane say "no cow on the ice"....think about it). Can anyone give me an idea of what our wait will be before we receive the final approval (being interviewed in Denmark)? Papers being processed in California and ?? (not sure where the place is). Our lawyer tells us to expect from one to one and a half years once the papers are filed. She is very cautious. Looking at the website here, it appears to be substantially quicker than that.

If you are married you cannot file a K1 and your lawyer therefor seems very missinformed... maybe you mean K3 and K4 (K4 being for a child of a K3)?

Or maybe you mean the I-129F that is used in both applications?

We are filing the I-130 and the I-129F.

That's a K3 visa.

exspect a year to year and a half then when it comes quicker you can be overjoyed but if there are any delays heaven forbid you are not disappointed that is the official time line let me just say good luck and may all your roads be smooth and processes be quick

If this time frame is what your lawyer expects, then they probably have a pretty good idea that their office's response times will add to your timeline.

If you're prepared to wait a year or more, I'd just skip the I-129F and follow the CR1/IR1 visa path. It will cost you a lot less money in government and attorney fees.
