Securely check the status of requests made under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Just have your control number ready. You will receive a "pending" or "processed" response immediately. A pending response indicates to

the position of the request relative to all other requests in the same processing track. A processed request indicates that the request was processed and the customer will be provided that processing date. Customers without Internet access can still obtain information on their FOIA requests by calling the USCIS FOIA Requester Service Center at (816) 350- 5785 from 7:00am to 2:15pm (Central time).

Directions:

On USCIS.gov website select "About USCIS" button in upper middle of page. Then select "Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts (FOIA)" in right hand side of page. Enter the control number from your receipt notice and click "Submit Status Check."
