I filed for adjustment of status back in August 2005, I had my first biometrics for AOS in september 2005, I receive a new appoiment for biometrics again last week. I went to Orlando for biometrics in the day and hour that they give to me. After 2 days I receive this e-mail:The interview scheduled in this case has been canceled. You will be notified if the interview is rescheduled............................

I just don't know what to believe !!!!! I called USCIS and after 40 min waiting I receive the same answer. Nobody told me if I had an intreviw schedule and when was that and why was canceled. They said to make an appoiment for infopass.....I am scared !

Why after 2 days from my biometrisc they informad me that my intreview is cancaled...I never received and appoiment for intreviw and they have my corect mail address because I just received the letter with apoiment for biometrics?

Can somebody tell me what can be this? Is there somebody who received the same message and how you deal with this?

Thank you all in advance!

Did they also say that your file has been transfered to California? That's more common and it means they will approve it without the interview. If not, then it might be something different. Good Luck

This is only information that they gave it to me ...just cancelation...no reason...nothing else, and

is no point to transfere me to California because I sent from the first begining to Chicago....I will try to make an infopass appoiment in Orlando ASAP.

Thank you all I and hope only the best for oll of us!

I had the same email notification. I hope for your sake its not the same reason. We filed in NYC, after 5 months we recieved a letter from USCIS stating that our case was being transfered to LA for quicker processing. We recieved another letter a month later asking for firther documents. We forwarded the documents within 5 days via usps signature service. Months go by nothing. Then after 5 months we get an email stating the same thing our appointment has been canceled and may or may not be rescheduled. I called the hotline they told us not to worry that sometimes if there is a scheduling conflict on their part, that they will cancel and reschedule.

We wait.

Two months later we get a letter stating our case was denied for 3 reasons:

a. failure to notify attornry general of address change. (we never moved been at the same home since we were married and all documents had that address)

b. Failure to furnish supporting documents in a previous interview (this was weird, the date of the supposed interview was 5 months earlier then we even applied for the K-1)

c. Failure to furnish further documents as requested in the previous letter (even though we addressed the document as properly stated in the letter to us, and have confirmation delivery with a persons name accepting the documents at the LA USCIS office)

Also On all 4 pages of the documents, the alien number was incorrect. Made an infopass appointment. No help. They said our case was in LA and that there was nothing they could do.

We got lawyer, filed an appeal folowing the instructions on the letter. We waited 5 months to have the appeal returned stating that all appeals are now handled by Chicago.

Lawyer resubmitte dthe appeal and and advised we refile.

WHAT A HEADACHE, so much for the faster processing

hope things go smoother for you

Cases are sometimes transferred to California regardless of where you submitted it. We also submitted our AOS application to Chicago (we live in Pennsylvania) and we were transferred to California. Have you checked the case on the uscis.gov website? Here is the link:

Good luck.

The cancellation notices seem to be fairly common lately. I'm suspecting some kind of computer glitch. We got five identical notices that our interview was cancelled, all on the same day. And we didn't know we had one scheduled either. If there really was one scheduled I guess it's a good thing they cancelled it because we wouldn't have known to show up for the interview.

We also got cancelled last August, receiving the letter informing us of the interview date and the notice that it was cancelled on the very same day. No reason was given. That was nine months ago. I suppose it's possible that the 5 cancellation notices pertained to that interview but who knows? I'm reasonably certain nobody at USCIS would.

We got the exact same email notification of a cancelled interview back in October last year. Last friday we went for an infopass appointment where we were able to find out our file wasn't in Atlanta at the time the initial interview was scheduled. Since AOS dates for Atlanta are a year past our file date I was getting really worried but after the infopass appointment I am feeling much better about it all now. the lady was able to tell me that our file is now there and that our file was looked at on 5/5 she felt that we would have an interview within the next 30-60 days and be all done. So I have my fingers crossed that she is right but I would suggest that an infopass appointment doesn't hurt just takes some time.

Debby.
