Internet access is much easier for me than my SO... so I ordered it. But it is being shipped to him and then he can send it DHL to me with a bunch of other stuff. Some things are his responsibility, but whatever is the most efficient way, we jump on it. It is more important to us that he go to work everyday than spend hours driving all over the island and standing in line...

You ladies don't trust your SO's to take care of this?

JG..sometimes the it's much easier..the lines ,the heat etc...my husband took care of a lot but there were things that were easier for me to do..like ordering my BC online and have it delivered to him...whats the point of stressing him if u can do it and make things easier..soo it prooves he willing ?

No. For me, it was his fair share of the work. Sometimes I have to step back and say I have done enough. Your turn.

fair share? it's like him working for his reward....so does that mean..if he can't get it done or will delay the process and it could be done by u quicker u would allow the delay ?

I was lucky. I gave Marcel a list of things to get done in a months' time. He was able to get 4 copies of his birth certificate for me and 4 copies for myself, he got his passport and passport pictures take and filled out the G325A and dhl it back to me. I was shocked when I got everything. He did the police certificate and non-impiedment on his own too.

Um, no.....it's him caring enough to do 1/2 of the work on it. Nothing more. Nothing less.

He's perfectly capable.

Same thing here, Tre. I did the paperwork. He was responsible for everything he needed in Jamaica.

Kimmy;

I need you to be my surrogate for the little girl I want to have. Ask Mr. K if it's okay with him.

Some of our SO can not get days off as easy as if we can get a day off here in the states...and those offices do not open usually on the weekends...especially if we have computers here and your SO doesn't...it was easy for me at work just to log on and enter his info to get his B/C and i didn't even have to take a day off to do it...so why not do it...it didn't work because he had to end up going to a RGD site and request one anyway but the point is if its easy for us to do it whats the big deal...Certain things my SO had to do like get his PC...I see it more as who could do what faster and more cost efficient...I don't get why should it be "well since i did that you have to do this..."...I don't really see the point...The paperwork was actually a piece a cake in this entire process...its just the agonizing of waiting and waiting thats a killer...Just my opinion.... :blush:

The closest would be Santa Cruz... and it is like an hour away... he's kind of in the boonies. Ah... now, I'm a bit stressed by this. Money is so tight right now and having him drive anywhere always ends up costing him an arm and a leg. Can he pay for it and pick it up the same day? He has to go to Kingston to get his police record, so maybe he can get it all then? I've already paid for the marriage certificate, so we will see what happens there.

Thank you all for your help.

Don't be stressed out. I ordered by marriage certificate this same way. Had it sent to my SO in St. Mary. They will send you and email confirmation and on that email it will say if you have any questions to send them to a certain email address. I did have a question so I emailed them and they did get back to me within a day or two of my email. I paid for the faster service and it took about a week. Hope this helps.

Dillon, you got a marriage cert in jamaica? I thought you were a K1?

well Melissa, I see that you submitted your USCIS paperwork already. I am assuming you sent in the marriage registrar and not the marriage certificate to USCIS. that should be fine. Thats all a few of us Yardies did. You wont need the certificate til NVC time, or the interview. Either way you go, you'll get the certificate before then. Me and my husband went to RGD and ordered it there. We did one with 3 day rush service, which is couriered from Kingston. That was a hot mess. The courier would leave the certificate at wierd locations and tell my husband to go get it. Then my husband had no idea where those places were. then they had to courier it again. The courier is supposed to meet you to hand it off, but kept missing my husband when he was in town. So stupid. It took over 3 months to get the 3 day cert :wacko: But then I ordered a regular service one on the internet and had it sent to my husband in JA. That one I got 2 cert and they arrived in about 6 weeks or less. They beat the 3 day one. Then he just sent it to me via snail mail. I got it in more than enough time.

I think its fine to do the work from your end in the States if its easy enough for you to do it. Its a partnership right?
