Sorry...I couldn't find my OP, asking for tips on how to bid on eBay, but anyhow...I was able to find the item (2005) version and had the winning bid at $62! The 2007 versions have been going for about twice that.

What I learned about the process...

- don't place a bid on the item right away, just click the 'watch this item' to get email notifications when the auction is near it's end.

- it was ending at about 6:05 am this morning, so I set my calendar on my cell phone to go off about 10 minutes before then. Woke up, placed a bid for $1 more than the current highest bidder and then kept hitting the refresh button as the minutes wound down. I was prepared to bid higher if needed.

......

Now, just going to cross my fingers that the item will be shipped to us in a timely manner and in good condition. :)

Congrats....I think.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Congratulations!

What the heck is it?

Thanks! hehehe...they're study cards for the Dental Board Exam Part I. Jinky has 3 parts to pass in order to be certified to practice dentistry here in U.S. Many foreign dentists swear by these study cards in order to pass. Just one step towards the goal. :)

If you do not want to watch this item you can use auctionsniper.com... it will bid for you with about 10 seconds left in the auction which then gives nobody time to rebid (unless they are using ebay's proxy bidder).

YMMV

Congrats! And good luck to your wife.

Do you mind telling why you chose to bid on the 2005 edition and not the latest version? I found recent versions for almost the same price. Just curious, though it's totally none of my business :) I don't really know much about dentistry.
