Possum Pie, anyone?

Just wanted to share a pic of a local critter who decided to eat the cat food on our back stoop last night. I have shared pics before of the wildlife around here but this one was special - my daughter and I were actually able to sit right behind the screen door a mere foot away from this possum! After watching her a few minutes, we discovered why...look at her belly, folks. Alli and I watched this possums babies moving around in her pouch! It was really neat! Poor thing was really hungry cuz she was feeding young uns too. :(

Just FYI: Possums are the ONLY marsupial in all of North America, and I for one, think it is awesome! A lot of people think these critters are ugly but I think theyre kinda cute. :yes: And actually, you really WANT to have possums around your home. They are the equivalent of land vultures, they eat all kinds of carrion and garbage etc and eat rodents around your house. :thumbs:

awwwwwwww how cute. They look different to our possums here in australia too. I used to love watching and feeding the possums and their young uns in the trees at the front of the last place I lived.

I'll pass on the possum pie though lol yuk

We did both K3 & CR1 visa's, got both!!- I returned to England for my CR1 interview after first arriving on a K3 visa!!

May/25th 2006- Green card arrives in the mail................YAY!!

19th June 2006 I Had to go to the Social Security Office to get my number, the DS-230 didnt work for me!!

26-June-2006- Social Security# arrived in the mail....YAY!!

Feb 2008 lift conditions <<<reminder to self!!<<<< went to England for a visit instead, no rush right, 90 days is a long time,LOL

Removing Conditions Begins

Mailed I-751 April 12th 2008

signed for @ NSC April 16th

NOA date April 16th

Conditional GC expired May 5th 2008

Biometrics Detroit May 10th 2008

10 year Green card ordered August 20th 2008

Citizenship any time from feb 2009

That is a FAT possum!

The 'coons here have bogarted all the cat food, and the possums have to stick to the trees.

Great photo.

When I lived in St. Catharines (before I moved to the US and my cats became indoor only cats) I had a cat door and the cats could enter and leave at will. I had their food in the kitchen, and in the middle of one night I heard crunching sounds that didn't sound like any of my cats. So, I got up and turned on the light - and there was a possum eating the cat food! He wasn't all fazed about me, either, kept right on eating until I shooed him out and then he kept looking back at the food before , with a big sigh, he exited through the cat door. I did put food out on the back porch for him after that. He didn't bother the cats one bit either.

Great pic !

Possums are really harmless creatures (at least to humans) although they do leave a stink... they apparently pee all over the place.

Mahmoud had never seen one before he came to the U.S. One night he started shouting that a giant rat was out on the back patio.... lol it was just a fat possum, eating the cat food. (Seems dry cat food is like Food Of The Gods that no wild animal can resist.)

And wouldn't you know my worthless felines just sit there yawning as the possum wolfs their dinner. They also completely ignore skunks and raccoons walking right by them. Just worthless I tell ya. I guess they don't recognize these animals as prey, because they will get up off their lard-like azzes to chase and kill squirrels and birds.

Speaking of critturs, that dern raccoon got up on my porch last night and swiped the goldfish food. Found the can out in the yard... top off and empty. :angry:
