my fiancee will be laid off starting oct 2008..and we are now in the process of the k1 visa..he is planning to stay here for months maybe up until the time during the interview..now, i know during the interview he doesnt have a job..will this affect the visa?technically, he is still employed and will be receiving salary every month..

although if he is going to transfer to another plant, he'll be accepted thats for sure ..what do you think?

thank you

How can he not have job and still be employed? Are you saying he's on vacation or leave of absence?

hmm..yes he is still employed but they are laying people because of some reasons..although he can transfer to another plant in the same company..

during the time that he doesnt have a work he will still get his salary but not 100% maybe 85%..

and the company where he is working can call the people back if the economy is already okay..

i hope this makes sense

If he has enough savings or just enough money to show at the affidavit of support documents it shouldn't be a problem :)

He have to be careful, make sure your fiancee meet the required income since you guys are on the process of K1. Let's say you're done with K1 by the time you come to US it's not the end of journey you still have to adjust your status after marriage then you have to provide them latest proof of income.
