My father told me that he could file the I-134 for my fiance alone. I don't have anyone to notarize my I-134 in Iraq. So my father has volunteered to. Does anyone know if this would be a problem?

If there's no notary available, I'd just sign it and include an explanation of why it isn't notarized. It takes about a week to get tax transcripts mailed. You could have them mailed to your father and he can forward them to your fiancee.

Expect a positive result.

Thank you for your service to our country.

check with your s-1/pac, they should know who in your unit is a notary.

Your CO or someone in your chain of command will know who can notarize your I-134. If you are in or near any larger camps JAG (legal assistance) services are available and can take care of these things.

If you find you are having trouble conducting your affairs with the USCIS from over there, one possibility is to sign on a responsible, willing family as your official representative. You do this by filing a G28 with the USCIS, sort of like a power of attorney. It worked for us, and my son is not even currently on active duty. That way they can deal with the USCIS for you when you are unable to. You still have to personally sign original documents, such as the I-134, etc. Thanks for serving.

Ask around about who is the legal officer in your unit, the legal officer of your unit can notarize documents for you.
