any other people who believe in this filipino superstition?

im just wondering if there's any one aside from filipinos who believes in evil eye hex (usog)??

Is that the same evil eye my wife gives me when I am misbehaving....

My fiance's little niece who is only 2 yrs old, suddenly had lots of bumps all over her body but it wasn't a chickenpox. They went to doctor and they couldn't find anything what it was or the cause of it. My fiance told me that it might have been an elderly who have touched her and did a vodoo thing on her. Its so sad and scary when ever you see something like that happen expecially to young ones. I felt so sad about my fiance's niece because she is a happy little girl and now that she had those all the time she was sad and in pain (scratching). But lately she is gettin better but the bumbs on her skin is still there. Its a sad thing to experience something like that at a young age...

thats so sad, did they just rule out chicken pox? could it be an allergy? my eczema has bumps where its not too bad and can be itchy, and there are many diff skin reactions you can get. perhaps thats an avenue to look at? but i hope your neice get better poor thing.

In England the only time I have heard of anything simular is are you giving me evils? (usually coming from a chav), meaning are you looking at me in a nasty way like i'm scum? Never thought of it as having an origin of superstision though interesting. But i'm not superstitous much, just the maggpie rhyme which wierded me out once and stuck.
