Hello all,

I already filed an IR-1/CR-1 Immigrant visa for my wife and step daughter. I was curious since its going to be a while, would it be possible to file for a nonimmigrant visa for my wife to visit me in the U.S. for 90 days or so to take care of some business while we're waiting on the Immigrant Visas to start getting processed.

Thank you to all who have replied.

She can apply for a tourist visa on her own. Has to be able to show she HAS to return home and won't run and go illegal when she gets to the US.

If she is poor she doesn't have much of a chance of getting a tourist visa. Only cost $131 for her to try tho. Happens sometimes.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Is it possible? Yes, people on this board have done it. The real question though is, How likely is it she'll get the visa? It will be difficult (but not impossible) for her to show strong ties to her home country when you have already petitioned for to become a permanent US resident. Even if you do manage to get the visa somehow, you still have to worry about the officer at the point of entry. He could still deny your wife entry.

Most of the people who have been succesful having their SO other visit are often from countries on the VWP.

Your chances for getting B2 are not necessarily high, but as others say it's not impossible.

Good luck!
