I want to keep it simple as possible so and have a list of (everything) I need to send to her for the interview. I need a solid list of what is essential and what is to be sent "just to be safe" Just for piece of mind.. etc.. I'm not confused about the affidavit and all the supporting documents, but I am confused about sending a complete copy of the original petition??

First of all they already have all the original forms. I even gave them an original notarized

copy of my birth certificate from the county (I got 3 copies). So do I still need to send my fiance copies of those for the interview even though an original was sent with the petition?

The only copies I sent were photocopies of my boarding passes, visa stamps, some envelope and post dates from letters and sample emails proving our relations ship , (guess I didnt really need at the time) Otherwise we sent the usual passport photos, a couple photograghs together and of course all the forms. That was our petition.

So other than the affidavit, what else do I definitly send to my fiance for the interview? Much thank to anybody who can sort this out..

songsparrow,

During the interview at the US Consulate in HCMC, your fiance(e) will provide copies of all of the requested documents as well as relationship evidence to the interviewing consular officer. However, the consular officer has the right to request to view the original of any photocopied evidence to verify anything in question. This is why it is important to provide your fiance(e) with the originals of everything.

At this stage of the visa journey process, I would highly recommend posting your HCMC Consulate questions in the Vietnam or regional forum areas of VisaJourney. This way you can ensure that you are getting accurate information pertinent to Vietnam. Many embassies/consulates are different in their handling of visas/documents/processes.

There are many friendly recent and previously visa approved Vietnam VisaJourney members that frequent the Vietnam and regional forum offering input and specific advice regarding interviews and the process in Ho Chi Minh City.

Best of luck to you both!
