EVIDENCE OF RELATIONSHIP --- How much is enough?

Hi guys...

Just how much proof should be presented in providing evidence of our relationship? I've got hundreds of photos, approximately 873 pages of YM chats (legal size paper, back-to-back...and that is just from May 2007 to May 2008), about 300 emails, 4-inch thick stack of letters/cards, the guestbook from our wedding reception as well as the financial details of it, joint bank accounts and credit cards. Oh...and a 128-picture wedding album. :D My husband and I had been debating a bit on this issue, especially with the chats. We need some insight.

Anyone?

That should be plenty. My (fiance') now wife had a much smaller stack of letters, pictures, etc. than you do and all the interviewer looked at was the photos of me there in Quezon City, in the family's home a group shot with everyone. He asked her what my hobbies are and my favorite food. I think that was enough. Some interviewers might be more indepth but I think you have it covered

for the pre-screener print 5 pages of chats or emails per month..

and also for the pictures put some in a folder cos it wont fit at the window if you'll put them on an album..

then bring extras so just in case consul wants more evidence you'll be ready..

"i don't know much about love but i know that i love him.."

PS: the window will be around 12"-14" wide and 3"-5" for the height..

so try to imagine what would fit on that window..

goodluck and godbless..

Hi there,

I was on K3 too and what my pre-screener and CO concerned more were couple of pictures of me and my husband. It won't hurt though if you want to bring that all. I am just suggesting that make separate pictures that's not placed in a thick album coz the window where you'll insert the evidences are just small and narrow, the same what envy_me posted on her thread.

Good luck.

envy and shape has given thumbs up suggestions... as shape said, it won't hurt if you want to bring all that but well, I'm a little "kuripot", sayang ang ink, so I printed only 2 or 4 pages of chat logs (first page only from different dates) per month beginning December 2007 (month before filing) to March 2008 (month of petition approval), 4 pages for april (1st page of selected day per week), then first pages of daily chats 2weeks prior to medical.

I also printed only very few selected emails, less than 10 lang ata. tapos a few chat logs and emails from his daughter and his mother. I turned our pictures into montages and collages para few lang din kelangan iprint, some i even printed on coupon bond, yong mga printed na dati pa, paste ko lang sa coupon bond... brought also a few cards, receipts: hotels, engagement ring, plane tickets, etc., boarding passes, etc... I made separate folder for proof of ongoing relationship and proof of engagement... in the end, i was only asked for: PICTURES.... ipinagduldulan ko pa nga yong emails, chat logs, phonelogs, receipts and etc, pero sabi ng prescreener sa consul nalang daw pakita.. di rin hiningi ng consul anything.. picture lang ng anak ko nong baby pa sila ang hiningi ng consul.

We started talking August 2005, got official October 2005, so printing everything from way back 3 years ago would have been TOO MUCH..

just remember, the consul and the prescreener will not have time to read or look at everything you'll bring... so a few of this and that is more than enough already, just spread the dates out to prove that you have constant communication.

Good luck and God bless.

My wife had tons of evidence.... Joint bank account statements, letters/cards, YM chats, tons of photos but all they asked for was a few photos.

While they may ask for more than just a few photos from you, I think bringing everything you've got is a bit much.

Why not just bring a little of everything? Like one email per month, one page chat per month, latest bank account statement, 10 photos from your wedding, and 10 photos from everywhere else.

But its all up to you. Bringing everything really wont hurt your case. Just your back. he he

Thanks guys. I can sort things easier now. Yes, I had imagined myself lugging all those materials along with the official important documents...ouch indeed! And I would have my child with me too! I guess I just want to make sure that nothing is amiss.

Speaking of children, will my daughter be questioned too? She is 5 years-old.

She'll probably be asked: what is your name? how old are you? Is she your mother? who is this? (while prescreener or consul points to your husband's picture)....

BUT then again, they wont even bother to ask her anything.. prescreener or consul would probably just look at your daughter and then ask you, is she your daugther? what is her name? how old is she? how does she feel about your husband (if he is not your child's biological father)

My kids are are 10 & 8.. and basically the prescreener only asked them their name and age and the consul didn't bother to ask anything, he directed all his questions to me.

They don't grill kids so don't worry about it. Just make sure your baby have something to occupy her time while you will be waiting for your number to be called and also bring a little food and drink for her (liquids are ok as long as you keep the seal tightly intact before you pass the guard)... and also don't forget to bring pictures of you and your child when she was a younger like newborn, 1yr old, 2yr old, 3yr old.

I am sure you will both do great! Good luck and God bless always.

Those would be enough for you to go on the interview, but you need to file them in a way that you could easily hand them over to the pre-interview and consul interview on the window slot. Don't ever use a photo album, better be it, paste them on a legal size paper or art paper. Just be alert to detach or draw out files they will ask you. Remember not all interviewers ask the same documents so be ready for it. Bring all evidences you could bring coz they can also ask you documents according to how you respond to their questions. GOOD LUCK !! TIRA, TIRA!!! :star:

Thanks dbears. That helps a lot. I had been conditioning her for both the interview and the medical. Basically told her that we need to do these so we could go to Daddy's house. She is a bit hesitant with the pending injections though and asked if she could just get them from her doctor. I told her that she couldn't, of course. Hopefully, she would not put up much of a fight when it comes to that.

Can't understand the PPD thing. First of all, most Filipinos will have a positive PPD test because, well, they are in a place where TB is prevalent. Secondly, is it NOT the gold standard for diagnosing the presence of TB; an AFB culture would. I should know this as I had screened patients for PTB. I guess their protocol is different....mga praning :D

Good luck to you too! :star:

My sentiments exactly.. esp when i heard about one vjer (kasabay ko pa medical & interview, K1 din with 2 kids)whose kids are undergoing 6 or 9 months ba yon na TB treatment sa US now. Positive sila uli sa skin test, tapos negative uli sa xray (pinaulit both kahit they only had medical May 12-15 then left P.I June 1-- wala pang one month medical result nila). According daw sa dept of heath doon, kelangan itreat yong latent infection-- which I think is just the false TB infection caused by BCG nong kids... hayy  .. I told my fiance I would really demand that they give my kids QFT-G TB test on top of the PPD. So far those who got that were not recommended for tb treatment, I am really hoping that will also hold true for my kids when we get there.

Btw, dagdag mo na din yong paghuhubad na part ng medical sa conditioning mo sa baby mo. Some kids had issues with it before.

Good luck uli.

So it is my understanding that these kids with positive PPD...they are given that standard 6-month therapy? Or i-Xray pa sila?  And does this treatment have to be done here?

I don't think my baby would have problems with being examined by a doc.  It's those injections, whether they be vaccines or blood extractions......(sigh)

I don't have an appointment date yet nor notification of any sort, but I want to start preparing for everything. I don't want to hit a snag of any sort. I am supposed to be reviewing for the US licensure exam but my mind is pre-occupied with all these things. Oo...excited kasi ako :D

Lapit na alis nyo....Good luck....good luck...God bless.
