Hello

After a month delay at NVC (!) I am hoping to be able to receive and sent packet 3 to London next week.

The nice man at the Embassy said it is taking 8 weeks to schedule interviews from their receipt of packet 3. I have a deadline of Oct 29 to confirm or postpone our wedding date of 29 Nov. So it looks like I will struggle to get an interview before that deadline date.

So my question is: Has anyone had any experience or success with begging for an interview before a certain date?

Thanks

From all the posts I have read the likely hood of getting an interview date any earlier is not likely.

NOTE: The cardinal rule: never plan a wedding date around the issuance of a K-1 visa, who knows if something comes up at the visa interview that will delay the issuance of the visa, like additional administrative review.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

On the checklist you recieve from the embassy is a place to indicate an expected travel date. Put in the date you actually hope to travel, allowing maybe a bit of cushion for any delays. London tends to book according to those dates and is often very accomodating. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Thank you all.

Just to clarify, I can move my wedding date with our venue if I don't have the visa in hand by Oct 29. But obviously, I don't want to

Thank you.

Gosh I am praying for an early interview so I am saying to ya to TRY haha! Our first wedding date we had scheduled was Sept 27th (since we applied for this whole thing in begining of Jan we thought we had plenty of time HA!). We are REALLY hoping for an Oct/Nov wedding ourselves....

Gareth has his medical in London next Thursday (8/28/08) and has all ready to go so we are just waiting for London to actually get our stuff so we know he can send on his P3 to them (see my other post from today for about that haha).

So good luck and let us know how it goes!!!

Graham did you call the embassy to find out when your appointment was?

He may have called DOS too I have found them to be most helpful! That is how we got our LND number and Gareth's medical scheduled already since he has yet to receive his real P3 in the post!

Hee hee I cheated and booked my medical early. I have not actually received packet 3 yet! At least I feel like I'm making some progress, and I booked the medical to coincide with a wedding dress fitting :)

We put down ASAP on our forms and got our interview date for two weeks tomorrow............

That is very encouraging, looks like it was only a month after you sent in your packet 3, which I hope to be able to do next week. I know that my file is en route to London, so it can't be too much longer!

I was wondering how long we should wait before we call DOS to see if London has given us an interview date, I know they send it with Packet 4 but the sooner I know when it is, the quicker I can prepare my college days off etc; .

Wait at least 2 weeks from when they entered the packet 3 in...which if you get someone polite, they will tell you when they did!
