Wow, that MD-80 must've been stuffed full if 170 people were aboard.

I've flown out of Barajas twice, once on a Delta 767 and the other on an Iberia A340. The A340 was scary; I swear we used about 90% of the runway before we took off.

Note the similarity between Spanair 5022 (yesterday's crash), PWA 510 (1984/03/22) and British Midland 92 (aka "Kegworth Air Disaster", 1989/1/8)--all of which involved aircraft engine fires.
