Thank you for the confidence. I really need it sometimes. This journey has been full of

surprises. I have a feeling that this is it. :)

It certainly sounds a lot like 'it' to me! Maybe your man has a common name and they just had to take extra care to make sure he wasn't one of the other similarly named fellows. Action on a case is always better than no action on a case

NVC:

2009-09-11 - NVC received.

2009-12-17 - Case complete e-mail message, sign in failed on website and AVR... YAY!

2009-12-17 - Waiting for an appointment assignment...

2009-12-29 - Interview assigned: February 11, 2010!

2010-01-06 - Case forwarded to consulate.

Consulate:

2010-01-12 - Medical exam part 1 of 2 complete.

2010-01-26 - Medical exam part 2 of 2 complete. Ouchie!

2010-02-11 - Interview results: Administrative Processing 221(g) :-(

2010-04-27 - 2nd interview results: Approved :-)

2010-05-04 - Visa in hand!

2010-05-08 - POE

Hang in there. I know its hard. But, I kept calling DOS sometimes a bit more then I should. Some people would give you more information then others. I know exactly how you feel, but believe me it does end. You have nothing to worry about.

Ahh, thanks for the humor (humour to our brit friends!). Needed very much today. Brahim and I just had a long and emotional conversation. Though I know in my heart our visa will come this month, I'm scared to death to leave him. Less than two weeks from now, I'll have all the comforts of home and my good support network, but my poor honey will be left here with just a few friends and the endless struggle to find a job (hasn't been able to in months!). It's not an easy situation and I feel very selfish for leaving, but our new home and my job is beckoning me back. Tough tough tough stuff.

Here's hoping they continue working on those of us long-termers next week!

I would recommend waiting at least six months. This is a reasonable time for them to process any security checks needed. I know they say something like 99% are completed in 60 days but.....I would wait at least six months. Keep from frustrating everyone as all your congressman can really do is send an email to the embassy asking the status of your case and the embassy will email back stating it is still in AP, or consular review, or got eaten by the guard dog, or whatever the current status is. A congressman CANNOT speed up the AP they can only be of assistance if there is an unusual problem.
