Hi everyone i had a question i called the DOS Today and the lady said the last update was march 26th. Dose that mean thats the last time it was looked at? What the heck why has it been so long since it has been looked at? I know i have not been in AP as long as some people but AP is super hard no matter how long, And im so tired of not having any answers when i contact The DOS and the embassy. Anyone know if it should be a month without being touced?

I'm not sure if you can always believe what they say did you ask her when the last update was or did they volunteer the info I think sometimes they say that there was an update to give us hope. It has happened to me before then when I call back I was told there was nothing done on the case I even told them the date and they would say no there are no entries for this date. But hopefully this is not the case and they were working on your case good luck

First congrats to everyone who has survived the black hole of AP.:dance::dance:

To answer the question about delays between touches this is most likely because they are waiting for information. Maybe the results of an FBI report, maybe obtaining a file on a person with a similar name to determine if it is you or not, maybe a lot of things. The computers between the different agencies do not communicate with each other as they should and a lot of times physical requests for information have to be sent. I know it is hard but hang in there.

Hmmm, because I don't think calling every day actually achieves anything.

True, it might not affect the case status, but it might make you feel better and proactive-- especially when you get a good specialist who drop little clues about your case. I was totally in the habit of calling the NVC twice a day and it took me some time to wean myself off of the phone calls. The person answeing the phone at the consulate started getting more and more surly and then they stopped accepting phone calls all together pretty early on. So it was just me and good old DOS for a while.

Well, do whatever works for you. Don't let the specialists discourage you. I know one member who was up to calling 5 times a day. Not sure how he managed that, but maybe it made him feel better and more proactive  . He had an epic struggle and prevailed in the end. You can look up VJ member "gogo" if you're interested. He was VERY proactive with letters, calls, etc.

Ok so here is the update. My fiance got a call from the consulate to come to VFS and pick up

the pending letter. He picked it up and the letter asks him to submit any old prior passport

or passports from any other countries. But, he does not have any other passport or another old

one. So, the consulate said if that is the case just write a letter stating that and submit his

current passport. I don't know if I should be excited or what.

Of course you should be excited! You're inching ever so close... can't you feel it???

He dropped off his passport yesterday (their Friday). I hope I get some good news and can join
