It feels like they're clearing a backlog - I just looked back in this thread and see 4 this week :thumbs::dance: :

Those of us long-termers left are: Wellmux (almost 8 months), Alen & Bridget (4.5 months), Meredith & Brahim (4.5 months), Whatznext (too complicated to list!!), and the odd white woman out, Treehugger (2+ months)! I'm sure I missed someone, very sorry if I did!

I'm tempted to call DOS even though I just called them on Friday. I'll try to wait another day. *sigh*

I agree, it does indeed feel very encouraging to see four cases approved this week already, and it's only Wednesday

My weekly call was also last Friday, and I'm soooo tempted to call again, but I'll do my best to wait until Friday...and I might also email the embassy on Tuesday as it'll have been exactly four weeks since my last contact with them, and like last time Monday is a public holiday here.

Not so sure how I feel about my description, but I think I'm in good company :P

Ok guys, who's going to be next, and when? :D

Congratulations !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! You too. Good luck on POE. Everybody I know had an easy time at it. I heard them call for a translator over the last loud speaker the last time I crossed back into the US. As long as he's fluent in a lingua franca, he'll be fine. I will be waiting with bells on for Pman to cross over... as soon as these obscene flight rates subside a bit :o

I'm adding myself and my fiance to this list, very unfortunately. We were told he was approved for the visa, and then in the next breath that we're in AP. Quite literally a second later, after he was told he's approved, they handed him the 221(g) letter. It makes me very angry, especially since they didn't even want to see our evidence in the interview. Hardly fair if they don't give you the chance you support your own petition.

hmm6604 - Im so sorry for the AP the initial shock of AP is the worst I think most people are blindsided by it. I know I was anyway on the brighter side most people in Morocco have a quicker AP process than some other areas. I hope yours is a short one Good Luck

Thanks Bridget. Chin up dear. If ponies don't cheer you up, almost nothing will! Oh, how I wish they would just clear up a bunch more APs this week. They've got time. It's only Wednesday. Or maybe they all clear out at the top of the week? Not sure if there are any trends. I'm praying for Alen to be safe and get the call soon...

I'm adding myself and my fiance to this list, very unfortunately. We were told he was approved for the visa, and then in the next breath that we're in AP. This sounds a lot like how my story started hmm6604... except for the initial approval. Pman told me he was not given the opportunity to submit tons of evidence. Then they just abrubtly put him on AP. One look at the tracker will show you that most people come out approved. I imagine this is especially true for those who were pre-approved. Just hang in there. The waiting times seem to be trending down.

Pman's Wife - Congratulation it is a very exciting time for you! He will be here before you know it and all will be good. Take a deep breath relax pamper your self and prepare for his arrival. The days will pass very quickly unlike the days of AP Good Luck

Thanks Whatznext. I am so stoked! The whole world seems like a brighter place now. It's like a huge relief. I can sleep better, breathe better, think better. Things are just better! The sting of AP wears off very quickly. I already feel pampered. I just have to make plans for Pman. :help:

Congrats!! I am so happy for you. It seems like good news is on its way.:dance:

Well, my consulate has the file now and hoping they do not take too long now. I sent them an email inquring on status, but no response yet.

Its strange how certain visa specialist will tell you more info then others. So, the very next day I called to see and the visa specialist told me AP. Well, I am thankful for the other lady who told me some helpful information. Well, I got an email from NVC so that says it all :).

Being told approved is always a good thing. We are in the same boat. My fiance was told approved on 2nd interview and then later returned his passport with a letter stating we are in AP. I hope the wait is almost over now.

Treehugger, I'm not sure why people limit themseves to once a week calling. I called DOS more than once a week while on AP. I don't think it has an adverse effect. If it makes you feel a little better and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg in international calling fees, I say you should feel free to bump it up to more than once per week for sure!

I called them daily like when I was at the NVC

I think my last message was a bit confusing. I got an email from NVC last week that they finished procesing and send it to the consulate. Just two days back DOS visa specialist told me it was sent to Mumbai on Friday. So, the email from NVC made sense when they told me they finished processing it. What happened is they had sent our case back to NVC for the AP clearance and now its complete. So, just waiting for the consulate to call my fiance so they can issue the visa. I have written a lot of letters to most of these agencies.

So, technically there is good news to come. I just have to wait for my fiance to recieve the email or letter to submit his passport.

They usually say AP until the visa is issued. Even if its at the consulate just waiting for them to review it. They also refer this as administrative processing.
