I'm stressing out too starlight, been on phone all morning with lawyers, they adviseing me to let them file a writ of mandamus, hey im not rich, was in the process of trying to save money to go back to pakistan to be with my husband, keep contacting with senator and congressman, i know they gettin tired of me lol but hey squeeky wheel gets the oil ya know. The lawyer wants 2500.00 dollars to file the writ ughhhh, im so tired of this, this has not been a good day for me. I hope we all get visas soon and i hope ya soon to be father in law gets better soon. Pat

Hang in their Pakistan usually takes a bit long, but I am positive that he will get the visa. Not to mention its a CR-1. India is not known to take this long, so I am just a bit stressed as ours is a K-1.They don't consider K-1's as much of a priority. Don't waste your money on the writ as he is going to get it soon I am sure of it.

No but I did some googling and everybody that has filed the writ has had a positive outcome. But,

it seems like the consulate can make the decision either way. If you can hang on a bit longer.

Maybe for 1 or 2 months then consider the writ.

NVC responded to my email and told me that they have already approved my visa petition and

forwarded to the consulate. So, in other words there is no progress until the consulate makesthe decision. This is so frustrating. Two days back they responded to my congressmens inquiry with the usual AP.

i have contacted senator and congressman twice on both and only got back same ole standard response, dont think that does much good. Today i have found out about a catholic charity that helps ppl with immigrations problems and i think maybe they can help me with this writ of mandaumu and they dont charge that much so i will look into this tomorow. Yes its very frustrateing and stressful, we must try to stay calm and live healthy during this very hard time.

Weekly update time

I called the DOS, it rang straight through...a lady answered, and all she said was 'yeaaaaaah, it's the same, you're in AP'. When I asked if there were any more info she could give me said 'your congressman called, ask him' and when I asked when the last date-stamp was her response was 'the last date-stamp is when your congressman called, ask him'.

I know my almost nine weeks in AP is nothing compared to everybody else on here, but this is driving me crazy!!! I never in a month of Sundays expected to be in AP, I was told I'd get my passport and visa back in a few days, and accordingly I tied up (almost) all the loose ends here in the UK and my husband booked my ticket. Everything happens for a reason, so I must just have faith that although I may not know or understand why this is happening, it is ultimately for my own good, otherwise I really will go insane!!

The thing about AP is that I never knew anything about it until right before the interview when i started reading on visajourney. If I had known about it, perhaps we would have not tried to get pregnant when we did. I never wanted to be apart from him let alone travel while pregnant, all alone, give birth alone, recover from C-section, and take care of a newborn all alone with no income and only help from gov't in the form of foodstamps, wic, and medicaid. I wish they would tell you when you apply for immigration status that you will definitely have AP, even if it is just a few days. they should let us all know that it is a reality and we have to face it. It has been almost 6 months for my husband's AP and they have had his passport since the 12th of March. It only took Feisal 35 days to get his passport with visa back. So, let's see what happens. Zaheer calls AmEx office all the time to check and make sure if they have received it.. but they never say yes. =(

I pray for all of you to have a speedy AP especially HotGuy and Rana bhai.

Update - unsatisfied with what the Embassy CO told me on the phone yesterday (that we stood out amongst the cases in AP, that nothing is wrong with our case, that all she could do was remind 'them' (the US, DOS, FBI?) that our case has been pending for a very long time, but that she would continue to follow-up) I called the DOS usual number today and got the most unhelpful person. She kept answering me that she did not have any information, she could not see details on when it was last touched, what agency it was with, etc. And when I complained that it's been 4 1/2 months now she said 'Well, I can see they are working on it, I can see it was updated just last week' So, the DOS certainly can see the details, but I believe are unable to share. I asked if the update was when the embassy reached out to check on our status and she said she did not have that information. Whatever.

It really is disheartening and your story is particularly touching. I do hope you have a strong network in the US that can help you through this. And you have a wonderful and healthy little person to take care of despite the hardships. I wish you comfort in your day to day life and a quick resolution for the visa. Think how much you will both appreciate being together and your life in the US (if you can get past the negativity I think we all feel toward the government process right now).

Thank you Meredith. My little one isnt so healthy right now. She has a cold. She is only 5 wks old, and has a cold. She is so miserable. No fever though, Alhamdullilah. I cant believe the DOS operator told u she cant see any updates.. then seh gives you an update. LoL. They are ridiculous sometimes. I read on way way earlier posts.. like at the beginning of last yr that if you can get ahold of ppl like Sarah or Jessica at DOS they will give you more info. I also read somewhere that the older employees give out more info because they have worked there since before they made it so that the visa officers cant share the info. So sometimes they do share. I can only wish you good luck and hope that all will work out. Take care.. and Allah Hafiz.

AP is the hardest part of the journey .It has been over than 13 months for me and still no visa .This is really ridiculous !

I think yeah they should be honest with us and tell us the truth .When i had my interview back in March of 2009 the CO said everything is ok but i need to do some AR .I asked her how long its going to take ? She said 2 weeks :rofl: .Yeah right 2 weeks ! I mean why she did not say 6 months or 9 months or even a year ?!

I hope you will hear good news soon .Next time when he will call Armex they will say yeah your visa is here come and to pick it up .

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .
