I like to hear good news on the weekends :).

So I called and got a nice lady who told me that in the notes they put visa will be issued. But, then she also said you never know. Then she told me that the Mumbai consulate has a tendency to take a long time to issue the visa. As she knew about someone else who went through a year before the visa was issued. Got me worried and I called the other number and I think the gentlemen is now ignoring my calls. Since, his prediction did not pass. Guys just venting, please don't mind me.

They should realize that our lives our on hold. I do think immigration should be reformed more then anything. Why do we have to be away from our loved ones and no one can do anything about it? Immigration based visas should be taken more seriously, and I do believe K-1's should have more priority as well. As a female petitioning for her soon to be husband it would only be normal for her to want the wedding in her home country. Anyways, this is just my two cents I am just fed up with how I am being treated. I have even written a letter to the secretary of Consular Affairs, and not to mention my congresswomen doing an inquiry. Even emailed USCIS and they responded for me to call NVC. But, the bottom line is the consulate is holding on to our case and doing some internal processing. Ok I get that they don't want to email me, but some kind of respond is assuring for us waiting. I do have lots of patience, but now the waiting is becoming more and more excruciating.

It seems like when they tell you you are approved do they still have the opportunity not to issue? I just want to be prepared for everything.

Congrats on the good news. I agree with Starlight as well. They should give us more info. I can't tell you how many emails I have sent to Islamabad Embassy. They never reply. They only replied once to tell me that they received the emailed documents I sent them from the RFE. When my husband asked them once why they never reply, they said that if they answer our phone calls, they just erase the emails because they have spoken to us or DOS has spoken to us. You are lucky if someone told you there is a note saying visa will be issued. Was that the Embassy or DOS? Good luck to you, and I hope your fiance gets some good news soon.

I guess the CO can do what they want my husband was approved for the VISA paid his money left his passport when the passport never came after a month I called and was told it was on the CO desk under Administrative review then I got an email that they would return his passport if he needed it because he was under AP. Then in April of 2009 I emailed the Embassy for an update I got this response

Please be assured that we will notify Mr. XXXXXX once the administrative processing is complete and we are able to make a final determination in the case. Please be assured that the Embassy would not be seeking this required administrative processing if it were not our intent to issue a visa to Mr. XXXXX. However, the final decision on issuance can only take place after this processing is completed.

We hope this information will be helpful

Okay in May 2009 I got the Email that the case was returned to USCIS with no information. I was told that USCIS would tell me the reason. So I waited until March 2010 and got a letter from USCIS saying the CO thought we married for immigration puposes only and that our photos were posed. This is the kicker why was it ever approved in the first place and put through 10 months of AP if they didnt intend on issuing the VISA. Anyway I responsed to the letter with the same photos the CO had of course they are posed its wedding photos

I sent additional information showing we have had an on going relationship. I guess it doesnt matter now Im still a little nervous wondering what is next I will call DOS monday and see what they say I have a trip planned to go to Ukraine in June maybe I will be there if he has another interview anyway for now I feel good even after all the BS

Thanks everyone

It was DOS that told me based on the notes that were put by the consulate. But, she also told me you never know with the consulate. As Whatznext went through the same thing her SO was approved and then they sent it back. They even have the date of our wedding in the system. Which is supposed to be the end of the month. I am sure all the planning they wanted me to do was to just buy some more time for them. I will lose a few deposits, but its the least of their concerns.I guess approved does not mean much until they issue it.

Whatznext thanks for sharing your story, and I admire your patience in all this.
