Since 2007, most name checks are finished in 1-3 months. It has not been more than 3 months since your name check started. In my opinion, you at least have to give them the estimated time before you do anything drastic. A writ of mandamus is a bit premature right now. As I said before, people can go through many rounds of AP.

I think threatening them would be neither helpful nor wise especially considering that name check is in the US not at the consulate.

Thank you so so much for your reply i really appreciate it .

Yeah i guess i will give them some time at least they they will be done with that name check in USA .

Have a nice blessed day .

Mohamed

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Amarachi's wife - Im so sorry for the AP I hope it goes quickly it is good that they told you review that tends to be a shorter process unless after the review you are put on the "official administrative Processing" Good Luck

tracker updated

klicristina-Congratulation on your visa but I must say just because some cases have a long AP please dont think we just sit and do nothing but wait. I think most of us have exhausted all avenues. Also females have much shorter AP than males. Your situation is alot different from most of the other cases. You are not considered a high profile risk. I think you would have gotten the visa at the same time you did regardless of the Email you sent. Anyway good luck and if it worked for you thats great.

I am sorry maybe I miss spoke in my post. We are in Administrative Processing (AP) not Administrative Review. I have no idea the difference. It was just what the consular officer stated in their email to me.

Hi,

After talking to several people at DOS, and finally I spoke to someone who told me that my case will not be sent back. That my fiance should get his visa by the end of this month. Told me from what he is seeing and based on the 2nd interview that I don't have anything to worry about. What a relief that was to get even a timeframe.

I got an email back from the consulate yesterday that my case is under administrative review now. Also, that 3rd 221g it was actually a letter and not the 221g form.

Hi,

My wife has been put on AP since 12/15/2009 in Abu Dhabi UAE. Its been almost 3 months and last i got a reply from the consulate that it was still pending administration review. I thought it wouldnt take this long but clearly something is wrong....anyway, add me on the list as well. Sucks to be on it,but hopefully all of us get off it soon.

Don't worry and think that something is wrong it is just normal procedure. If they thought something was wrong they would have told her at the interview. I know it is hard but you have 3 months behind you hopefully the long time has past and your wait will be much shorter. Good Luck

Hello...I was trying very hard not to join this thread, because I was hoping that I still wouldn't be in AP...but that's not the case unfortunately :(

Could you please add me to the tracker? I'm a UK citizen, my husband is the USC, my interview was at London on 22nd February, I was told that my visa was approved and that I'd get my passport back within a week, I got the pink slip and everything,...and almost three weeks later I received a reply to my email telling me that I'm in AP :(

Here's hoping that we're all out of this soon!!

Thanks for the words of comfort, Pat and Whatznext, but seeing that it's almost unheard of for a UK citizen to be in AP in the first place, I'm not going to expect anything to be the norm from now on! Every cloud has a silver lining, however, and this means I get to spend more time with my friends and family :)
