Thanks Milo,

I couldnt work in India, wouldnt make enough in one month to cover my car payment. I am looking at working in Canada, the UK, Australia, or even the middle east if I have to so my husband and I can live together as we should. I will have a better idea of my options soon, but I appreciate any information that is shared.

Hello Milo,

Please share this information with me too. Just in case. I will probably have an interview in January, but you never know the outcome.

Indianheart, I am sorry for your situation. Maybe we all will be living somewhere else. My husband now doesn't even want to move to the US and we didn't even have our first interview. He just wants me to live over there with him. He is tired of all this.

For general India information with a nice number of expats from the US and a good handful of people in inter-cultural relationships try indiamike.com; there are a lot of general tourist questions and threads but if you dig thru you'll find expats, Indian visa issues, expat job package info, every day living issues. There are ocassional threads about flats available, parts of the major cities that are most expat friendly, etc. A good general guide to potentially moving to India.

Indianheart, I'm working off of vague memory here so bear with me... :) you're a nurse? There are a ton of med related jobs in the mid east but the pay scale may not be in line with what you're accustomed to and the quality of life for expat workers there may not be what you are looking for. Maybe ask in MENA or even the Philipines forum about that? Then again, a lot of what I've heard is 3rd person and from mainly NRIs so maybe they have a completely different veiw of the mid east. But if the goal is to be there with your man, then maybe it is an angle to view the mid east thru...I've done preliminary research with Canada and New Zealand at this point. New Zealand is definately looking for health care workers. [My SO works in health care and his skills are a ton more marketable than mine]. Let me work on a list of sites I've been visiting/researching...

This 'AP' thing is one of the biggest frustrations that I have faced in my whole life.I wouldn't pray for my enemy to go through it.I was interviewed January 30, given a slip which says that the Administrative Process will average about 6 months. It's going to 11 months and nothing. It's so frustrating cos we don't know what step to take next.We can't even make concrete future plans because we still don't know where we are going to start our home, whether she'll just leave everything behind and come join me or if I will get to go join her.

Bottom line: Prepare and pray hard before your interview.

PEACE AND BLESSINGS!

So sorry we are adding you to the list. I can't believe you have just recently made the year mark. All in good time.

He is at the embassy right now for his 1:00 appointment. I need all your prayers and positive thoughts to come our way! Our embassy is unpredictable because of the high fraudulant activity in their country.

I feel your pain, we are into our 8th month of AP. :crying: I've spent enough time in Africa to know I don't want to live there, and my fiance doesn't really want to stay there either. So what do we do? I've thought about asking for a transfer to London or Toronto. Luckily I work for a huge global company and have lots of options. But... deep down I don't think it will come to that.

If your relationship is truthful and your spouse/fiance has no criminal record, the visa will eventually come when the time is right.

I have read your past posts and something is puzzling me: Are you a K1 or K3? You say that you were interviewed for a K3 (spousal visa) and then after that for a K1 (fiance visa).

You cannot file for both at the same time.

Thanks for your inquiry. Our husbands showed up at the embassy this afternoon and found that the embassy is closed today and tomorrow for a Muslim holiday and were told to come back on Wed. However, I called DOS this afternoon and found that my husband's interview has been rescheduled for Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. Mrs. Jibowu called DOS also and found that her husband has an interview rescheduled on Dec. 29. I am beginning to wonder if there is ever going to be an end to this?

Kelly & Ms. Jibuwu,
