Hi Guys,

Please add me to this list. We had our interview and were APPROVED this past Monday Oct. 5th in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The CO told us that we are on AP. I told him that basically we are on AR, and he said, no AP, that they are not the same thing. We paid the visa fee, and were told to just wait for the visa to arrive at my SO's house. I am trying not to loose my head. It took over 6 months to get my NOA2 and now this....I don't know what to do. I am looking at some of you, and it seems it's taking a lot of you a month or a little more to get out of AP. I am hoping the same happens for us too!

DOS told me today (I confirmed this by calling twice) that London put a note in the system today about receiving my fiance's passport. I don't know what this means because my fiance sent his passport to the US Embassy in London back in June, and the embassy received his passport on June 15, 2009. So the fact that London recorded his passport in the system on June 15, 09 and also today is weird. Does this make sense?

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Hello Guys!

I have reached USA on Oct 17 with the blessings of God & ur best wishes.

I wanna share my POE experience with u guys.

My POE was JFK.

At JFK immigration officer asked abt envelope and i gave it to him.Unfortunately envelope was not in good shape as i got it from embassy.he asked did u open it? I said no.then he sent me to counter#2.there were so many ppl who were waiting for the completion of their immigration. There was another officer took my passport and see it and send me another room.Actually my name got hit in their data base,i have a common name. They took approx. 40mins and they cleared me.The whole process took approx 2 hours.

The immigration process at JFK was not up to the mark only few officers were dealing with so many ppl.I did not find it good at JFK.

I got my connecting flight for florida and i reached here safe & sound.

I called social security yesterday and the officer told me over the phone that i will have to come and apply for it.

Wish u very best of the luck guys!

Welcome to the USA Sibtain!

I have a question for those of you waiting a long time- Is there anything I can do to find out what is happening or what is going on? We were put in AP in April, 2009 and we passed the 6 month mark now. We haven't heard a word. Things are getting bad where my SO is at and we need to get him out of there asap- and we are praying this AP comes to an end soon. Does calling a congress-person do any good at all?

Thanks for any help. ;)

Im sorry for your situation hopefully your case will be over soon at the longest now most cases are approved between the 6 -10 month mark so you know each day is getting you closer to your goal. In my cases contacting congressman and senators were no help at all but I can not say that they will not help you. I just got a letter from my senator and at the best all I can say is it was a joke. I explained the case and that the case was sent back and was at USCIS and the reply I got was we are contacting the embassy (LOL ) a week later I got a letter stating the case had been sent back to USCIS as of May 17 In most cases I think the office staff generates a generic letter once they see the case number. I am convinced they have never read a letter that I wrote. Good Luck P.S. I did get better luck in May when I called them instead of writing
