Well Joe, be glad you don't know what a I-601 is, it's like a minimum 12 month guarenteed AP. I guess for me it was a training session leading to the real thing, this AP.

I have been reading a bit and see that people get thier APs right after thier interview all I got was a I-601 and I did get an AP but that was dropped quickly after I wrote to the Director, one thing you don't do is tell a 25 year sober alcoholic that you smell booze on his breath and put it in his file. The I-601 was for a 33 years old conviction.

They can sure make it a tough go, can't they....I'm afraid that they can take their sweet-#### time, and just let time drag on and on... I wonder how many relationships just fall by the wayside in the months and years they take to resolve some cases? They worst part is just the not knowing what they are doing or how long it will take....

I called today USEM islamabad and they told me that your case is in final review we will contact u in 2 to 3 weeks.

I think it will be over soon now.

Went for interview on 23rd July. As expected, put on AP. The consular officer was least interested in usual stuff like marriage photos and proof of ongoing relationship/legitimacy of marriage. Instead, she was more interested in my travel history. She said that I should expect around 3 months of AP.

Its OK for me as my wife and daughter are with me and I am not in a hurry to migrate to US.

Can you please add me to the AP tracker as well.

that sucks but good thing you are with your family... ALI555 is keeping track of everyone going through AP at Islamabad embassy and there are quite a few of us so you should add yourself in there too.. here is the link:
