well i just called DOS they said embassy is asking for your passport...i asked him that did they issue me the visa...they said no..they said they need it for more administrative processing...what does that mean?? i am confused???

is it a good sign or bad sign??

Good morning everyone

I had my interview on March , 26,2009. the consular officer gave me my passport back and she said they need to do some Administrative process and they will contact me once that compete .

I sent an Email to the embassy asked them if i'm still under AP .they sent me an Email back .

this is what they said :-

Dear Sir:

The case is on the waiting list pending an interview slot. We will contact you once that is completed.

Regards,

Consular staff

Does that mean they will interview me again ?!!!!

Its my first time to see that kinda Email . and its the first time they sent me that kinda Email .

I'm confused .please help .....

Hi, I'm not really sure how this particular thread works (it's sooooo long), but I guess add us to the AP tracker list. My fiance had his interview in Casablanca on April 29, was told congratulations and that he'd be put in AP (he also had to turn in some certified translations, which he did the same day). I emailed the consulate about 3 weeks later for an update, and was told "be assured it is in process". So we're waiting!

I also asked a friend who is a consular officer in another country, and he told me there really isn't any reason to call DOS. He said it just takes as long as it takes, and that the goal is 30-60 days, but that 90 days is not unusual.

I also read on the State Dept website that we shouldn't call before 90 days have passed.

Sooooo, the question is, what's your opinion on calling DOS? What's the consensus on just being patient? I don't want to hassle them if they're working (particularly since there are people who've been waiting a lot longer than me), but I also don't want to be a chump!

I added you to the tracker hopefully it will not be a long wait it seems cases are moving faster. I am the last one to give advice but calling DOS once a week can't hurt. As you can see by the tracker the the visas eventually get issued. Good luck I hope the time passes quickly

You should not contact DOS for 90 working days that is around 4 months - normally they do process the AP between 6 to 8 months - which still sux

Now in these days normally AP time has increased.You can say now its starts from 7 months to 10 months approx.

Yes that does seem to be the average.

So its better to prepair for the worst and get a surprize if it is sooner.

UPDATE THE TRACKER!!!

So, earlier this week I filled out the AR11 to change my address. Not even 3 days later we got a re-affirmation on our original petition and we're headed back to NVC. We're back on the K1 track!

Nevermind the fact I gave up my job last week, handed in my keys to my apartment today, and have a 1 way ticket to Delhi on the 28th. Yeah - we were ready to just marry there, get my residency, and file DCF.

I'm just - ugh - speechless!!!!

khalidnfatima welcome but I am sure it is the last place you want to be I added you to the tracker and the good thing is Pakistan Embassy seems to be getting the job done lately I hope you dont have to wait to long.
