I have a question about Admin Processing...

I have a friend who interviewed at the US Embassy in London last week on May 22nd for K-1 interview. She was issued a 221g for co-sponsor I-134 and the interviewer did not mention anything about her being put on Admin Processing. But her fiance called DOS from here in the USA, and he was told that her case is still pending and when he asked if she was put into AP or are they just waiting for her co-sponsor I-134, the DOS customer service rep told him that yes, it is in Admin Processing pending her I-134. The date of the last update was May 22nd, the day of her interview.

My question is, is she under Admin Processing or are they only waiting for the co-sponsor's I-134??? Every time her fiance calls DOS, he is told the same thing, nothing specific about AP or anything like that. When one is put under Admin Processing, is the last date updated the date of the K-1 interview, or if one is under Admin Processing is the case updated after the interview? Or there are no updates until one is out of AP???

In other words, she was interviewed May 22nd, so according to DOS, last updated is May 22nd.

If she is under Admin Processing, should her case be updating or not after May 22nd?

Sorry to barge in amid the good news and conversations...

But just a quick question on the 221(g) received after interview.

If only the first paragraph is ticked of the 221(g), that is just for pending documents and NOT for AP, correct?

But if the second paragraph is ticked of the 221(g), that is for AP, correct?

Thanks in advance,

MARM

How do you know that the last update was on May 22nd???? Cuz whenever I call DOS and ask they always say that they dont know..............

Usuallyif they request additional information they will put you on AP. Some people are put on AP without any addition required documentation. Your AP seems for a specific reason, but one can never be sure. People have submitted the required information and them embassy would still keep them on AP. This is in more complicated countries though.

Khadija,

When you call the DOS. Say, I am calling to see if you can see any updates on my case. They have a back view of what is going on at the embassy level. Even if the embasy responds to your email they will make a note and the DOS can see that note. I know from experience. You just need to act like you know they can see this information.

Some are informative and some are reluctant to help. Just keep trying weekly.

Thanks for your replies!

Is it possible to be on AP as well as pending additional documents? My fiance received the 221(g) when he interviewed about a month ago for additional documents (only the first paragraph was ticked of the 221(g) form). DOS also tells us that his visa is pending/processing and we don't know what to make of that. Are they waiting on his documents? Or are they waiting on his documents AND ALSO have put him on AP?

If it is possible to be on AP and pending additional documents at the same time, then when does the AP start? After the embassy receives the additional documents or right after the interview, regardless of when the additional documents are submitted?

My fiance will be sending in his pending documents soon, but I was worried about whether it is a possibility for his AP to start after he submits his document (by the way, his pending document is his passport), as we have already are experiencing a 1 month delay due to his pending doc anyway, we don't want to have to wait longer for his AP afterward...I hope someone can shed light on this matter.

Thanks!
