hey every1 .. ok well here is my update... I just got a letter from the consulate requesting my husbands passport and listing all travels abroad including dates and locations.... i hope this AP ends soon.... def keep us in ur prayers !!!

You cannot visit the US, while you are in AP.

While in AP/AR, can one visit another country other than the USA while waiting for the visa?

This is what I am trying to ask:

Person is originally from COUNTRY A and interviewed for K-1 at the US embassy in COUNTRY B

US embassy in COUNTRY B put person on Admin Processing/ Admin Review

Person decided to visit COUNTRY A for a short time while under Admin Processing/Admin Review and then returns to COUNTRY B in a couple of weeks and wait out AP/AR in COUNTRY B until visa is issued.

Is this possible and doable? Or are there consequences?

Not that I know of - I spent a few weeks with my fiance in a third country last year. It was nice and gave us the illusion of equal mobility for a little while :) You might want to check with your embassy, though.

I have a question on AP.. who gets the notification? As you can tell, my case is pretty complicated too (got transferred to local office right at the start).. so I hired a lawyer to do a lawsuit (writ of mandamus) and won and got approved.. seems like we have to do it again if they continue to lag on our case.. well, since I hired a lawyer, do they get the notification letter, or does the beneficiary get a phone call (call-in letter)?

Should notify both lawyer and petitioner.

Hi miamiwife :star: how are you doing? yeah, we got blue :crying: :crying: they said everything was ok, blah blah blah "ready to issue", that we were under name checks again.. :wacko: My lawyer said that I can file another lawsuit after 90 days (writ of mandamus again), so we will have to wait.. they will make an inquiry soon (I have been emailing the consulate, and all they say is we are under "administrative processing")..

AP requires days/months for some years. It took us nearly 15 months !

haha, you haven't seen my timeline? It took me almost 18 months just to get approval.. :wacko: another 15 months will kill me.. I'm "giving up" at the end of the year anyway.. if by then nothing happens, I'm moving back to live with her.. but I'm giving up a good government job.. that is the only thing that's bothering me.. there is a very very low chance to make as much as I make here over in China.. 1 million RMB a year is really good, lol.. I can spend a lot when I go back and spend time with her.. but if I live there, it will be a lot different..

you can add up my time, and it will be over 750 days (2+ years) as to when I started.. =(

and that is why I am doing the lawsuit against them.. I KNOW they aren't doing security checks on me.. got letter from FBI stating they aren't..

it was a lie before, and it is a lie now.. I'm not going to wait it out and let them take forever on our case.. you should have put up a fight too.. waiting for them is the worst and won't get you anything for a while.. every USCIS article (and articles from other websites) state that security checks take no more than 1 week to clear.. taking longer than that means they aren't working on your case, and you need to push them..

My Fiance is on AP for 9 months now, and 2 years waiting for visa since we applied, i am filing a law suit too, i am done waiting, i agree with you with the fact that they are not doing anything on our case!!! let me know how you go with your case and i will update you with mine.

Interview Passed : 12/9/2013

Visa "Issued" on CEAC : 12/10/2013
