Yes, you can travel to another country(not US) while in AP. As long as they did not keep your passport you are free to roam to any country that will hav eyou.

Thanks for the reply! Just another concern that maybe you have information about as well:

So let's say the K-1 applicant on AP/AR has traveled to a different country other than applicant is still out of country? Is it possible for the applicant to arrange with family members to send the passport to the embassy once the embassy asks for it to issue the visa? Or is it mandatory for the K-1 applicant to be present in the issuing embassy's country in order to send the passport to the embassy and receive it back with the documents through courier?

The reason I ask is there is a likely chance my fiance will be put on AP/AR once he has his interview. He is a Pakistani student in the UK interviewing at the US Embassy in London. His mother is not well so we were thinking whether it is possible that if, in the case he is put on AP/AR after interview, that he still make his trip to Pakistan to visit his mother and while there, if his AP/AR is over, is it possible for him to send his passport to the UK through secure postal services and have his friends/family in the UK then arrange for the courier service to pick up his passport and take it to the embassy and also receive his passport with the issued visa and documents from the courier and then they mail it via secure postal services back to him in Pakistan. Is this possible?

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

:D that would be an option...but then, I have to think about the cost too. I gave DOS a call about flying to the US and the lady just advised that I wait for my AP to be done and to have Knight visit me here. I'll just have to sit tight, I guess.

But thankums for the suggestion, miamiwife -- it's an option we'll certainly think about. I shouldn't rule anything out at this point...

Traveling while in AP is not recommend and might cause further delay

Traveling to a T-26 is a red flag. and Pakistan is on top of that list=)
