i totally agree with you starlight, my husband and i have been apart now over 2 years and now this 7 month ap is ridiculous and i think my husbands heart attack was directly related to all this aggrav

i've been waiting for good news for past 7 months

IR-1 / CR-1 Visa

2010-04-19: approved online wohoooo

2010-04-24: NOA2 hardcopy received

2010-04-26: gave 2 email addresses and assigned case #

2010-04-27: received/sent ds3032, AOS bill

2010-05-01: IV bill became available online/paid

2010-05-06: sent in DS230 package via express mail 9:07am

2010-05-11: NVC acknowledges the receipt of AOS on 05/05

2010-05-13: operator told me that AOS sent to supervisor for review....

2010-05-14: AVR changes to received the checklist letter response on 5/13

2010-05-23: RFE for original birth cert. (i did sent original).......arghhh

2010-05-24: BC under review by some department

2010-06-02: sent in original BC again and previous BC is still under review

2010-06-10: NVC recognizes BC into their system

2010-06-15: BC under review

2010-06-21: SIF!!!!!omggggg soo happy 57 days in NVC process

2010-06-28: interview on Aug. 19, 8am.

2010-08-19: interview went fine but he's put into AP :(

2011-01-09: almost 5 months in AP "still pending"

2011-02-06: 5 and half months and still counting......when is this torture going to end....

2011-02-20: 6 months still no answer..........

2011-03-08: more than 200 days passed in AP..................(

2011-03-24: visa has been issued today. hurayyyyyyyyyy finally wait is overrrr.

its been 10 weeks since we've been in AP, I called the embassy this morning and he said, "I'm sorry, its still pending" :crying: I think I should stop calling for awhile, everytime I hear those words it just makes me more and more upset :angry:

AP is overrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

My visa was issued last march 16 and mailed out march 18. I can't believe this is really happening!

Please pray that my visa and all the documents will get here and not get lost in the mail like what happened to mine last year.

It shouldnt take too long to mail passport. Should receive within a week.

My visa was issued today I can't believe this is really happening! do any body know how long its take passport to mail applicant.

The thing that gives me strength while living with being in AP is the people that have gotten their visa's after waiting so long. My good friend had to wait 10 months for her husband to get out of AP but he got his visa in the end. Another friend waited 8 months before her husband got his visa. Both of these ladies had husbands from Pakistan.

I have good days and bad days. There are days when I just want to give up and move to Pakistan. My husband helps me get through the bad days.

Just hang on Mandyui you are not alone and we will all get through this AP together.

Thank you so much, contacting my husband's congresswoman works...but the waiting is not over yet...I have bad experience about the german postal system since they lost my passport before. I will celebrate when the visa is in my hands.

wow that is long!! Did they give you a reason for his AP or why it's taking so long? Have you tried getting a senator involved?

I know, its driving us crazy. I was without him for 9months in America and now our daughter and I came to Yemen to be with him. No one could tell us why he is in AP. When I call the embassy they said all his documentation are found and everything his fine in his file. If we hit a year which is April 24, 2011 , i believe we would have to renew some documents such as medical exam, police documents, this is hell. Ive also contacted Senator and they have made two congressional inquires, as of now , we are working on the third. Hopefully they call us soon, this AP is stressing me out.

Thanks Carolyn :star: I do find hope when I hear of cases being approved after being in AP. I think the average AP time in Egypt is 3-4 months, however I've known some to be less and others to be more. I too have my good and bad days...the last couple of days have been not so good. Its sad and frustrating, we come all this way, wait so long to be with the ones we love, we feel the end of being apart is so near, but at the same time so far away :(

Its nice to know we're not alone in this boat and have others here for support.

Update on the status of my visa sent via Deutsche post....it hasn't arrive yet! been checking my mailbox so many times during the day. Finally called the consulate again today and asked, they gave me a tracking number and when I checked on the status, it says...the recipient has been notified to pick up the item on the post office. #######? I didn't get any!!!! So called Deutsche post, gave them the tracking number and other infos...spent almost 30 minutes on the phone just to get an info as to where I need to go to get my mail because the lady can't speak english that well. Anyways, we went to the post office right away but it was close!!! I feel like I'm cursed or something! I am really nervous right now because the german post already lost my passport before which delayed this visa process. SO tomorrow ( fingers crossed) I will have my visa in hand and this nightmare will be over....HOPEFULLY!

i called DOS today and i was told that visa was issued today. i don't know i might have to call them tomorrow to be 100% sure. but how long does it take for embassy to contact us for passport after the DOS clears AP??
