No we haven't heard anything yet. I'm just continuing with getting the house prepared for him. I bought a bed for us a couple weeks ago and planned on putting it up by today but I just haven't had the energy to do it. I was so excited to get it at the time now I'm just like blah. Maybe I'll put it up when we hear something or they tell him to bring his passport.

Not really any news here either. Last week I was able to talk to someone at the embassy and was told they are just waiting to receive his case back from Washington. I tried calling again today and was told the consulate section was closed, which I know is true for people who have not had their interviews yet, however in our case they are working on it. I argued with the man on the phone for about 5 mintues before I gave up and just sent an email. They are pretty good at responding so hopefully I will get some news soon. I was thinking of going back over to visit, but I really wanted to wait until his visa was issued and fly back with him, but idk if that will be anytime soon. Also, hoping and praying he is here for the birth of our baby in 3 1/2 months.

No news here either. Still in AP with no end in sight. I asked my husband how could he stand being in AP with all the waiting. He said that he knows once he gets the visa he will be leaving Pakistan so everyday he is enjoying his family and friends. I'm happy he is in good spirits about the await.

Hi Guys,

It is going to be 1 year for me in AP come April. My wife is a USC I am a UKC and we have been living here for the last 5 years. We had our interview in London last April and since then it has a been a very frustrating time with no news.

My wife is expecting in June and we would of liked to be settled in the US by then.

I call the DoS every week and email the Embassy every month but still no words. We have even hired a lawyer in DC who has contacts in the DoS but still there seems to be little movement.

Is anyone else in AP as long as I have or done anything different?

wow thats a long AP, especially coming from London. Did they tell you why you were in AP? I know they have certain databases they check based on your profession/education and nationality but thats for security clearances. Did they say if you were in AP at the embassy or in Washington?

My Mother's Interview went well and the Interviewer said the Interview was successful. However, the Visa will be given after the "Additional Processing". He took the Passport, had her sign the DS-230 Part II and did not ask for any extra papers. Embassy will call her once the "Additional Processing" is done.

Now I heard about "Administrative Processing" "Administrative Review" but what is this "Additional Processing"? Only thing I can think of is that the fingerprint of my mother's left hand has issues, so they may have not had complete fingerprints for the check.

Could some please put some light on my poor understanding about the “Additional Processing”? If they don’t know when that would be done, then why did they keep the passport?

From what I know, administrative processing and additional processing are the same thing, its just the choice of words that are used that is different.

Interview was in Dhaka, Bangladesh and one of her hands is not functional enough to get a good fingerprint. So the fingerprint person at the embassy told her not to worries about not having full fingerprint.

And after the interview she was told that she is approved but needs the "Additional Processing". Therefore, it’s clear that she was put into AP because of that fingerprint issue.
