Mandyu1 it's almost impossible to get any information from the DOS except the words "still pending".

I know, I called there this morning because I received a reply email from the embassy. Last week DOS told me that all visa's coming out of Cairo were on hold until the embassy reopened. However, the email I received earlier this morning states that if an applicant had an interview prior to them closing, and their passport is at the embassy, they will finish processing it and send the visa/passport via DHL. I mentioned this to her and said it contradicts what I was told last week by them...she really didn't know what to say other than they're not on the grounds of Cairo and don't know what they're doing there (really!!..I kind of figured that) Hoping to hear some news soon!

Include me too in the tracker.

My husband's CR1 interview was on February 14, 2011 in Chennai, India.

I think his academic background in Material Science and Engg triggered AP.

He had to fill in SAO questionnaire that enquired about his academic qualification, research papers etc.

I got a response from an email I sent to the embassy. At first they were saying we were in Administrative Review now they are saying we are in Administrative Processing.

My husband had his interview and we were asked to provide a new co-sponsor. When we sent them the new affidavit of support our case was placed in Administrative Review. Now 3 months later they have placed us in AP. I am going to assume that they have accepted our new co-sponsor and are now doing background checks.

I have to assume they accepted our new co-sponsor because we haven't gotten any information from the embassy about it. They have not asked for any additional documents from us or told us our new co-sponsor was approved.

Please include me in the tracker.

Why can't we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn't work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say good-bye. I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos. Charles M. Schulz

I'm added too! My fiance's interview was just March 1 and we're on AP. The good news is only the AP box was checked. So all the docs were accepted. I just hope and pray it's not so long that something expires and we have to get it done again.

Add me to the long list. I'm a filipina, husband is in the army, currently living here in Germany on a US base.My case was transferred here in Frankfurt. My interview was feb. 9, they told us everything is great, expect the visa in 2 weeks. 2 wks passed no visa, contacted consulate in frankfurt they told us my case was electronically sent to washington for AP. Called DOS yesterday...answer- case still pending AP.

I emailed Frankfurt USC again today, this is their reply:

I refer to your recent inquiry concerning your immigrant visa application which is currently pending here in Frankfurt.

Under current U.S. law and regulations certain applicants require additional administrative processing before a visa can be issued. Your application falls under this special review process. The amount of time required to carry out this additional administrative processing varies. It can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months or longer. We are unable to expedite this process.

However, please rest assured that as soon as we are able to proceed we will take immediate action in your case.

Sincerely,

U.S. Consulate General

very frustrating...this has been a very long process for us...full of ups and down. My husband has been to 2 combat deployment in Iraq. Been stationed out of US for how many years now. He hasn't been home to visit his family and friends back home. He just wanna go home and introduce his us (me and the kids ) to everybody. He has been serving his country for so many years and this is how he get paid.

To all of us on AP...may god be with us all....

Our AP is over! After badgering the embassy and state dept, I received a response from the embassy via email.

They said, "The case has undergone the Administrative Process and the Visa is ready for issue. The documents appear to be complete and in order. In order to issue, your husband must call to schedule a 221 appointment. The information on how to do this is enclosed. At that time he must bring his Passport.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our office."

YAY!

If it has been over a month, I think everyone should email or call once a week. For us it was 4 months, but I don't know when they were planning to tell us that it was over if I hadn't emailed them to ask.

Good luck to everyone! I hope things move smoothly for you.
