MY VISA IS HERE. The dastardly mail lady never even knocked, just stuffed it in the mailbox.

My PoE is gonna be tomorrow. So excited.. more details later.

Thanks guys. Yeah I know it's a quick PoE but we've been waiting so long and I've really just been living out of boxes all these months at my parents. We thought it would come this week so we figured out what days I could travel, if it came before today my sister would have driven me today.. my mom has tomorrow off but is working all weekend so she can drive me tomorrow, otherwise one of my sisters or my stepdad would have driven me on the weekend. Actually my older sister just came home from India yesterday and there really isn't room in the house for all of us (and our luggage) so it's a good thing I'm getting out of their way, though they are both moving out again on Labour Day weekend. (My mom is gonna have a second empty nest syndrome LOL, even though we are all over 25 and none of us live at home long term.) He only lives four hours from here.. so close yet so far away, but allows for a quick PoE.

Bleh I'm rambling but I'm so excited, I can't believe it's real, I had sooo many dreams of getting the thing only to wake up and find I was still waiting. I keep looking in the envelope to make sure it's really there.

Whatznext I forgot to mention, the actual issue date on the visa is Aug 23 (monday!) so if you wanna fix that on the tracker.

I'll come around again after tomorrow and let you guys know how the PoE went.

Congrats there KevBev, It's good to see the door has finally opened for the Canadian APers. This makes us feel much better and gives us some faith that I can move soon also..............

I am sorry you are going thru this. From what I have read, Pakistan must be really hard to get thru.

I see you are in South Dakota. My sister lives there... in Wessington Springs!

Awhhh cool ! I guess that's about 100 miles west of me,I'm in Mitchell. Famous Corn Palace !! lol Well ... Sorry to say it's not only Pakistan that it's hard to get though, it's most of the mena countries. Did you find out anything from DOS ? Only thing they'll ever tell me, is case still pending AP?

Hey Bridget and yes you are still on AP until you submit your evidence and / or file your appeal and the case is processed or closed I know you wont give up and you will get through this its just a big hurdle that takes time to jump over it but you will. I got an email from someone else today and their case was reaffirmed so hang it there.

And no new news for us as usual the Ukraine Embassy was closed tuesday another holiday and they will be closed friday so I see nothing changing for us in the near future LOL and then they will be closed for labor day

Well seems rhe embassey really email me back. I was so surprised. They said would it be possible for Alen to come to another interview with the consulate. I told them he could reinterview in Baghdad or they could speak with him over the phone. That he wasnt in Sweden but had to return to Iraq. No anser as of yet but seems they are relooking at our case. Fingers are crossed...

hey everyone its been a while, just checking in to see how my fellow APer's are. still nothing on my side and honestly im beginning to hate calling DOS and hearing no updates. you'd think after 13 months something would have happened but nope. congrats KevBev im glad someone is getting some good news. maybe it will open the door for the rest of us for the month of september. inshallah. well, on my side DOS said they would make an inquiry for me and that was 3 weeks ago and i still havent heard anything from them or anyone. im truthfully not sure anymore about what else i can do. im pregnant and due in 6 weeks, and my hubby isnt here. anything i can to get someone to care at the embassy side? well any feedback would be great. suggestions even better. would hiring a lawyer do anything...?

I called DOS today and they said the case is still under AP. My wife was put on AP at her interveiw in Islambabd, Pakistan on July 8th.

Oh and I finally got my first response from my many emails to the Montreal consulate.. "your visa has been issued and mailed, you should receive it soon".. Thanks Montreal for telling me when I'm already in the US with the visa!

The embassy called my husband today and he did not hear the phone and missed the call. Then they called my sister in law (they live in the sasme house/his sister) and told her they had been trying to call her for 3 days and for her to send her passport so she can get the visa. ugh should i kick my husbands butt now or latter? i hope they call him tommarow.
