Yea truthfully looking back into the fbi site i really dont belive that the 90 day thing is accurate... i mean as far as i kno maybe but than i wonder what have they been doing with my case for the past year.... i dunno...

as far as the writ thing goes i get scared to threaten them bc they can just deny the case all togther. i suppose just like scottthuy said its not when we want it to be over, its when they decide its over... :crying:

i totally agree with you, except.. I dont understand how some can get through in 4-6 weeks, others in 90 days some in 5-6 months and then the rest in a yearish.... It is out of our hands... and I think that is what makes me so crazy. I am a control freak and not being able to control the situation or make it better.. Makes me think that my sanity is in question here

Unfortunately the CO holds all the cards. The Co can order has many checks as he likes. When one check comes back they order another one. This can go on until the CO is satisfied. Even after my case was sent back and reaffirmed the CO can send it back again for another reason. So if it means sitting here under AP for another year I will not send any emails to the Embassy. It doesnt matter if I send emails or not they are going to do what they want to do. I think in my case the CO is showing me his power. When we first went on AP I wrote a letter to the CO about the unfairness and that we were the only case in Ukraine to go on AP and so on and so on. So now the CO is showing me just what they can do. And trust me I have researched everything and the CO holds the power so now I sit quietly and wait. It is hard but I have no choice. All you guys just be careful when addressing the Embassy.

every interaction with the consulate is noted in the system.. whether it is by email.. congressional inquiry or in person.. they all get noted... thats not to say we get anything out of our inquiry.. just that they note it... they can get upity and throw a case to the side for as long as they want... but if they get called on it they end up having to explain why...

I still expect another phone call from them asking for my exwife and asking a bunch of question in a month or two.... we should be out of AP at our consulate in October as the end of fiscal is Sept 30..... they like to look like they have alot of work on thier plates at the end of the year and then they make it go away in October.... Look at this topic and the dates that people got out of AP... see the trend? it it follows though this year we will be done in less than 90 days... But keep in mind that the AP's in VN are all consulate level and not being handled by DC... they actually send out investigators to the village where the applicant lives to ask the local gossip questions.... as well as the friends and family... different from waiting for DHS namechecks...

So which is the "Better" Ap in your view? at the embassy level of Name checks? and what pattern are you taking about that we all may be done within 90 days?

I visited that link that you gave and I have a question, several of the ppl had gone to the consulate to inquire about their case and a visa was issued soon after... My Husband is planning on going to our Consulate today or tomorrow depending on work... and he thinks that they are just going to throw him away and tell him to call... what is the procedure on going to the consulate after an interview? They have kept his passport and I am not there to get him in... so my thought on it was to take the original interview letter with him and explain to them that he had his interview, they kept his passport and they didnt give him any additional papers and he would like to talk to someone about his visa... right sounds simple enough.. But by all means I dont want to urk anyone.. so should he wait longer? I was thinking that since the embassy told us that it would only take 4-6 weeks and it has been over that it shouldnt be an issue..

it all depends on the consulate.. ours will only allow the applicant in with a blue slip.. the USC is ony allowed in on two days a week for 2 hours... going to the consulate to do a status check should not irk anyone...

has to get past the guard, somehow, Melody... Worst that could happen is that he's turned away. OTOH, interview letter in hand is useful, usually, even if it's not 'for today'.

Yup - that's the 'do-all, be-all, end-all' lowdown on when and what type o checks.

I paste it in often.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thanks Darnell, I am fixin to call him to see if he went yesturday, If not, I am going to also tell him to take a copy of my passport and his passport with him... idk... but seems that might be helpful along with the appointment letter

Is there anyway to get an appointment to speak with them? Like with the USCIS you can get an info pass... is there something like that with the embassy?

Sometimes a congressional rep can send a request for an additional interview, but if the case is in DHS hands the appointment cant yield much since its awaiting results from another dept... .. usually its just limited to being able to go to the window outside and ask a question in person. Thats what Thuy did last week, but the erson at the window said pretty much the same thing they say when I call DoS.

At our consulate people have been know to make a copy of the blue sheet and hang on to the original to get access later if needed...

I actually made a request to be able to talk to the CO myself but was denied a few times...

I understand how you feel as I dont like having little or no impact on my own future... based on others in AP at your consulate it looks like it could be another month or two... thats alot better than those averaging 5 or 6 months
