Just to clarify gang.. a 221g is a denial.. temporary or final decision.. it depends on what they want to do at the consulate... technically anything other than approval is denial...

As long as we dont get a 212 we are not in bad shape... 221g's can be overcome if sent back to the states...

There are usually 2 types of AP.. one deals with the consulate doing extra research on the applicant/beneficiary... the other deals with the case being put on hold while DHS/FBI etc do additional name checks on the applicant/beneficiary... if the checks are not being done in DC then the consulate is supposed to get them done in a timely manner.. if the case is in the hands of DHS etc.. then it could take a year or more... this is usually what is taking place for those guys coming from ENA countries. Expect a long wait and when it gets approved early then all is good... hoping that it will get approved next week will only lead to additional aggrivation and disappointment...

Be realistic if the case is going through those DC checks as there are thousands of other cases ahead of you and NOTHING can be done to speed it up.. not even a Writ... The name checks are a DHS policy that must be done..... Bridget and many others will tell you that it is best to stay busy and not dwell on this as it will eat you up inside... identify a project that the two of you can share together when your spouse arrives... that will give you two something to talk about other than the fact that the case is in AP... calling DoS multiple times each week does not help any either.. The calls are not logged in the system so it has no impact on the case and being told over and over again that the case is in AP will not provide anything positive to your daily life..

As long as you are both eligible for a visa to be issued and the relationship is valid.. the visa will be issued at some point.. not when we want but when they decide...

Didn't someone post a while back that 99% of those in AP--get out within 90 days? If that is accurate, lets hope and pray that those of us who haven't reached the 90 day mark are part of that stat. That stat is the only thing giving me hope right now 18 more days for us till we hit the 90 day mark.

I've been cleaning, organizing and making room in my closet for Mr. Lostinlove. I just hope it's one of thoe unknown signs that he will be coming soon.

I'm tired of all his co-workers traveling to Kenya from the U.S. coming back and telling me they had a great time and it was good to see him. I know its really good to see him, I wish I could see him. : (
