It makes it so difficult when I call DoS and get one of the CSR's that dont have a sufficient grasp on the english language... I understand that they must have a huge number of spanish speaking people contacting them, but oh boy... what about those of us that speak english... I actually had to call back and talk to another person because I couldnot understand what she was saying.. thanks Rosa,I really needed to spend more time on hold.......

the usual response anyway.. Administrative Processing... Pending Review or whatever they want to say on that given day...

I sent an email to the embassy in Riyadh and receive an "out of office" response not because they are actually "closed" but because they aren't responding to inquiries until after June 3rd. I was told by another VJer that they told her fiancee about 2 weeks back that they were backlogged and they will work on their case once his name comes up... Could it be they aren't communication any more is because they are trying to clear their backlog? Am I being to hopeful? What do you guys think?

Hi everyone!

So, remember last week when I called the DoS I got a visa officer to tell me that my case would be approved by the end of this week. Well, when I called again today I got him. And, I asked if he had remembered me and said, "yes" and I asked if he still thought our case would be approved by the end of this week and he said, "absouletly." And, I said not to offend what are you basing this on, he said "based on your case and the process." But, would give me any other details. Soooooo...I asked him for his name and he said it was "Chris." I was wondering if some others would call DoS and hoping to get him and see if he provides any info or similiar info especially those who are K1. I want to know if he really giving out the "right" info or he just wants to give out "hope."

I've got him twice, once a few weeks ago and then earlier this week as well. He wouldn't give me any information, not even when I asked if my case was any nearer to being completed. Don't get me wrong - he is pleasant, and wished me good luck at the end, but no information - so it seems you're one of the lucky ones :) I hope he's right and you do hear good news very soon

Thanks both for the feedback! It gives me more hope!!! I also called my congress office yesterday. They helped me when our petition went over the 5 month mark at the USCIS step. I asked the rep. if they do help with this part of it even though the DoS says there is no time limit and she said, "yes" as long as the visa was not denied. So, maybe call your congress office to see if they can push a little on your behalf.

If anyone else has experience with him, please let me know. Thanks! :)

Don't get your hopes up - as much as they want to help, when it comes to AP congressmen/women can't really do much :( Incidentally - did you call the DOS today? I've called a number of times and I keep getting the 'we're closed' message

Yes, my husband contacted his congressman as soon as we found out that I was in AP. His office made a congressional inquiry, and because they were not very impressed with the generic response that they got, they initiated a second inquiry themselves, again with the same result. He also contacted his senator's office a month ago, and when he called yesterday to follow up they had lost the file :bonk:

I wonder why I keep getting the same message that the office is closed - how strange...let me try again!

I have called several times now - all with the same result. I went to the DOS website to see if there was a reason why they are closed - they have a more 'modern' look. Maybe I'll call tomorrow. It's not as if they're going to tell me anything today :crying::girlwerewolf2xn::protest:
