Thx girl just wanted you to know i am praying for you. Ya know most americans assume all muslim people are bad. Kinda like Alen. They all think because he is from Iraq he is a terrorist. He has problems killing a bug. But while i was with him he introduced me to his muslim friends and there familys. On catholic religious holidays for Alen they brought candy and would visit. On muslim holidays Alen would visit and bring them treats. They were all so kind and loving people. Just because their religion wasnt his or mine didnt mean we couldnt respect each others personal beliefs.I met so many kind people whom had fled the war and sought refuge in sweden.I will never forget my time there or the friends i made. We all, no matter what religion have bones ,teeth, skin a brain we are human beings. Just because there are a few bad apples doesnt mean the whole basket is bad. I wish more than anything for peace in all these war torn countrys.

Yah i know what you mean. It sucks that MENA countrys have to get such hard AP and stuff every religon every race has some bad people. dose that make them all bad NO! i hope your hubby get out soon!

Bridget, may God bless you for your unwavering faith. I pray your man stays safe & is returned to you quickly.

I must admit - I'm a little jealous that my first meeting with my husband wasn't as romantic as yours. :lol:My sweetheart got LOST on his way to the airport, so I thought I got stood up as well. I'm also a little country bumpkin - hills of Pennsylvania here (curtsy).

There had just been a large bust of sectarian violence in Belfast a month prior, and I was scared to death. I had no foreign currency, and I couldn't figure out the phone booths. My cell didn't work. I had a nice lady try to help me out, but I had an extra digit in my husband's cell # (because they drop the 0 when they are local).

By the time we found each other at the airport, my eyes were red & puffy from crying, I had upset my gastro system & was practically living in the bathroom (nerves!), and he was furious for not finding the right place. We started out yelling at each other.

And here we are, five years later. :wow: Still loving each other despite our unconventional face-to-face meeting. Not quite what romances are made of, but...

Ok so if my AP is waitting on a US agengcy thats means some sort of name check and here http://www.fbi.gov/congress/congress03/garrity071003.htm is says most are complete within 30 days and the rest are done within 120 days. i have been in AP for 1 month and 3 weeks. so Thats 51 days but the name checks are done in the US right so there off on weekends so which is 51 days minus weekends thats 35 days. and thats if im counting when they sent me the AP letter. i hope we get good news this week.

AP is the hardest thing to except and live through all of a sudden we can make no more plans I felt my rights were violated all I wanted was to be with my husband and everything was denied to me. I understand National Security but there is so much unfair with the system. MQ one thing I did learn is patience I tried everything I could and nothing has rushed his VISA one thing is everytime the Embassy is contacted takes away from time that could be worked on your case and you are right all you are going to get is a generic letter until they have something to say. I called DOS late on Monday and Fridays if there is any new data entered by the Embassy DOS will let you know. I feel the urgencey and despertion in you writings. I researched everything I could about AP so I know what you are going through but when they say AP it is just not security and name checks it is also anything that is being done on the case even if it is just sitting idle they will say it is AP. I found the easiest way to get through this is just know in the end even if it takes a little time the visa will be issued. LOL in my case they are trying to pull every straw they can find to hinder us but I still have faith. At this point I am just wondering what they will come up with next. I hope you hear some good news tomorrow. I don't feel so alone after reading your post. :)

Also why was your case returned to USCIS?

After 10 months of AP it was returned to USCIS because the CO thought we married for immigration purposes. However what I don't understand is that after the interview the visa was approved and he paid the money and left his passport only after the visa never came and I contacted the Embassy I was told it was under adminstrative review which would take less than a month unless they decided to place it under AP which would take a long time. This info was given to me over the phone by an aide who checked with the CO. Even funnier I was told in April 2009 by an email from the embassy that they could determine the lenght of AP but if they didnt intend on issuing the visa they would not be doing the AP and in May 2009 it was returned to USCIS go figure
