Update :

I really am so sick of that embassy .They really pissed me off .

I called them today to check on my damn case status .The guy there told me that the CO asking for bonafide of ongoing relationship !!

I was like what ??? are you kidden me ?! No one of you asked me for that at all .I just got an Email from you to redo my police certificate . And I'm the one who asked you if you need a new medical exam .

And you them both on Sunday .So when the hell you asked me for that bonafide of ongoing relationship ?!!

He was like the CO is asking if your fiancee come to visit you since she was with you last ? I was like no she did not come .And the CO asked me that question several times at the interview and i told her that we rather to save money .Cause we have many things to pay for like our wedding, honeymoon, complete the paperwork........

And when the embassy sent her those people from DOS she told them the same .

And we don't know when the heck will we get that damn visa ? So what about if she come and then i got that visa .It would be like we waste 3000$ or more for nothing !

He was like yeah that's right .Did you tell her that at the interview he say .I was like yeah i told her that at the interview .So why she asking the same question over and over again .

He was like do you have any question ? I was like no . I asked him if they want anything from me now .He says no .

Sadly that CO did not take any action still .And she still did not make up her mind .Which means unfortunately she did not make a decision yet !!

They really really pissed me off .They are behind upset me .I'm sick of the clean version of hell :(

Hey,

I truly feel your pain and anger. I am in the same boat, our case was approved of I-601 waiver but after the second interview the Embassy sent the file back to USCIS locally to get approval of 'unlawful presence' for my spouse. They embassy has made an error as my wife does not require approval for 'unlawful presence' yet no one at the embassy is willing to listen even though we have provided them proof that USCIS had initial wrote in our first denial of I-601 that spouse does not require approval for 'unlawful presence' since the period was less than 6 month. Plus they will not let you talk to CO who interviewed my spouse so I can explain the case. We have been put under AP, and since no one is willing to listen we are unsure of what we need to do. If you are able to contact Jenice Jacob please let me know if she was able to help you thanks.

Hot Guy that's so frustrating :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: I'm so sorry - I just hope that now you've got in touch with them that things move forward...I think that's why it's so important to keep contacting the DoS and the embassy, because unfortunately you can't rely on them to contact you to let you know what's happening. I only found out I was in AP because I called the embassy thinking that my passport was lost!!

Wishing you all the very best, and I hope that you, all my fellow AP-ers and I all get our visas soon

unfortunatly contacting DoS only updates us and does not make any note in our electronic file that we inquired... contact with the consulate does result in a note made in the case file... as does any inquiry made by a congressman or senator...

In many cases there is a clerk at the consulate responding to emails in as generic a manner as can be done to silence us... I get the same copy paste response from emails....

climb the food chain as ####### trickles down hill... and contacting the right person can cause the consulate to make things happen....

send them more proof of ongoing..phone logs etc.. dont give them a reason to deny

Hot Guy ScottThuy is right with the CO saying he wants evidence of a bonafide relationship you need to send anything you have before they send it back to USCIS. That seems to be what they are doing alot latley. Just like in my case we were not given a chance they just sent it back and that was a month after them telling me we would not be doing AP if we didnt intend to issue the visa, LOL that was 10 months after them taking the money keeping his passport then all of a sudden they think we married for immigration purposes only. Enough of me send any phone records, emails, cards anything with dates that show an ongoing relationship over the past months of AP. Take a deep breath relax at least you have a chance to respond dont wait to hear from them do this right away if it leaves the Embassy you will have a 6-10 month wait. Good Luck my thoughts and prayers are with you

It's so hard, this process! I think we need to make a stand and lobby Obama for new immigration processes. If you look at his website (he's a marketing-saavy guy!) It's one of the top things he plans to change. Now's the time!

I have to say 'looking back' (I was in the same boat til yesterday), that somehow getting contact with a higher up at the embassy will help you through the process. But I also have to say, get ready to wait a few months before they'll really look into it for you.

Hot Guy - quit talking to the guy who answers the phone, he's got no authority - you need to use your charm and get him to put you on with the immigration visa chief (his boss) - and charm them with your proof, that's what will get you out. I realize this may be a very American approach to insist on going over someone's head, but you're dealing with Americans in the end. My two cents.

Best wishes to you all - it does get resolved in the end. Though I'm not with everyone else who says that the anger melts away once you have the visa. I'm still angry on missing out on my family's life and going through all the emotions of being stuck, and spending lots of money to maintain two households. But the anticipation of everyone we're going to is thrilling!

Sorry if this is obnoxious to write in the same post, but you can update the list: Visa in Hand 5/12/10.

Hotguy I feel your pain, I have been on AR/AP no for almost 9 months. But I decided to not sit on my butt anymore, I google the name of the General Consul in Dominican Republic and in the search found his facebook page. I was nervous about doing it but I said forget this this is my life, so I sent him a message. Guess what he replied this morning, no great news just that they are waiting for some paperwork they have requested and this is the reason they have not made a decision yet. I wonder what they have been doing these 9 months, I mean there are updates all the time. He also provided me with his direct e-mail. I am confident that now my case may move faster since he is aware of this, so don't lose hopes.

I suggest one more attempt - i.e. -

Call DOS - ask for supervisor - then

1. ask for current status with the date/time stamp of that status, and casefile location AND

2. the last three 'status changes', with date/time stamps of each status.

If you get these 4 data points, and compare the answers over a month's time, you'll see how the movement 'went'. Don't waste time with the person that answers the phone - ask for a supervisor, each and every time -

and

pare back yer calls to about 3/week.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Congratulations on your approval ! We All Applaud your accomplishment with Most Wonderful Kissies !
