Thuy just called me and said 2 men went to talk to her apt. manager and neighbors yesterday asking questions and had them all sign affidavits about what she does for aliving her living there, how long and that she is alone... a great sign in my book

FINALLY some news for me.. Kevin called his senator and congressman again today, senator had nothing but congressman actually got a response back from the consulate, that basically just said yes you are still in processing.. but after he dug a bit for more info, was told that we are undergoing name checks from 22 agencies. While neither my first or last name are very common I can find 5 people with the same name just searching on facebook, plus there are different spellings, so who knows, could be slowing it down. It's nice to know our file isn't buried in a dusty box somewhere though and is actually being worked on..

Interesting, once we called DOS we got same answer from a lady when asked her to explain what kind of work was on our case, she had to explain that many different agencies work on this and actually no way to say when they will finish this process. I'm just curious why when I entered country under tourist visas everything was quickly to get clear that I was who I am, but now for this kind of visa they lost idea how to clear who I am really. Or this is just the way to delay things and to make difficult times for a couple, waiting if they will turn back away from decision to be together.

Thanks, Whatznext, I'm really hoping that you get good news next week...you've waited so long and so patiently!! You were of course right, the first few weeks are the hardest, but as time goes on you do stress about it less because you realise it achieves absolutely nothing. My husband's congressman and senator both made enquiries, and both got the same generic response we all get when we email the embassy. I rarely call DoS anymore because they don't really have anything to say...

Awiz - it's true, we're the same people that visited in the past, but don't forget we're applying for a very different status now that has many more rights and responsibilities than a visitor. Think of it this way - an interview for a Saturday job at McDonald's is not as intense as someone applying for CEO of McDonald's :)

Very well stated to AWIZ

Do call DOS every couple of weeks because I did find out from them info that the Embassy wanted I didnt receive the request for the info in the mail until about a week or two later and by the time I got the request from the Embassy requesting new police check and medical we had already done everything and had scheduled our appt for the interview In ukraine you have to pay $12 to call a call center that makes the appoitment. Thanks to DOS we are about a month ahead of the game at this point.

It's what who is looking for, to me this process is right back, if you were CEO of McDonald's in your own country, now you are going to be just that one for Saturday job at McDonald's, all difficulties in new place are just ahead, buddy. I'm going to create a family, not getting benefits from moving, I'm enough fine at home place.

I hope some of you have good news. I have been really busy with my business and soooo sad. I have no clue what to do or where to turn. Our lawyer said this is beyond his scope of practice,blablabla...I dont know if we even have any options. This seems to be a rare instance i cant find any other cases that are simular. If anyone knows of someone who might cna help or hears of a simular case please let me know. Good luck to you all and i hope your pain is over soon and you are reunited with the one you love.
