I have a question, did the DOS update their website on administrative processing? I remember them saying most AP resolves within 60 days, and the applicant should call after 90 days. Now that I checked the website, I'm seeing something new with teh IMPORTANT NOTICE

Whoever said if the embassy keeps the passport, the AP is shorter...that is definitely NOT the case.

We are a week and few days short of hitting the 4 MONTH mark with my fiance still in AP.

And they kept his passport with them.

And he is undergoing AP in London...so definitely NOT a high fraud country or embassy...

When will this ever end...

London wrote this to my fiance most recently:

While we understand that you wish for this matter to be resolved as quickly as possible, your application is subject to additional administrative processing which cannot be expedited. Please be assured that as soon as we are able to take further action on your application, you will be notified.

Sincerely

Consular Information Unit

Oh and is it just me, or as I see it from the trackers, the general pattern is that the K-1 cases are the ones that endure the LONGEST AP?

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

I like how they say, "Import notice....wait 60 days before making inquiry." LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I waited 24 hours and then called EVERY single day!!!!! It worked for me.

Marm,

Joe

The whole process is so ridiculous--couldn't be said enough. I don't want to put out names, but there ARE members on this forum that have had criminal/law-breaking convictions in the past (regardless of their severity scale) and were NOT put on AP and given their visas immediately after interview. How the hell does that happen? I don't get it.

Both my fiance and I have clean records, we are decent, educated people that want NOTHING except to be together forever...we followed all the rules, did everything the right way, and yet here we are...with no answers and waiting...

I am at the point now that I need to contact anyone and everyone possible to find out what the hell is going on. AP in London, according to their website is completed usually within 30 days and MAXIMUM 90 days. In the first place, my fiance was not EVEN TOLD that he was being put on AP at the time of his interview, he was told he was approved pending the submission of his passport, and then they tell us he is in AP a month later and then just SIT there on their bums and do NOTHING until about 75 days AFTER his interview they decide to do an investigation via phone to me and interviewed me. Then we thought, ok, now everything seems to be in order so we should hear the good news of his approval any day now...even the lady CO from London who called me for the investigation told me that she would contact either of us if there was anything further to verify, otherwise she would forward the case to the head CO and a final decision would be made...we NEVER heard back, so therefore they were satisfied and then we kept being told the file is in review with the CO and now we are being told he is in AP. I don't even understand the reason for the phone investigation...both my fiance and I share the same culture, the same religion, both have the standard age difference, he is older than me, both don't have kids, single, nothing bad ever happened in our pasts, we are good law-abiding citizens of the world, and it seems that they just pick on whoever they want...or should I call it discrimination based on religion or racial profiling...

No, I do not want to hear anyone tell us to be patient, especially those that have not endured such a long time-line. And yes, I know that immigration is not a right, it is a privilege, but just because it is a privilege doesn't mean we have to go through all this, especially when there is NO reason for this to happen. I am just forced to think that it is pure discrimination and racial profiling that is causing my fiance's AP.

And we not only have to deal with the inconsistencies of the US immigration system, but we had to endure a nightmare with the UKHO (UK immigration) for my fiance earlier this year...we have done everything the RIGHT way, everything within legal laws, not so that they can treat us like this! We have contacted numerous congressman, senators, made numerous inquiries, sometimes DOS doesn't even answer, sometimes London doesn't bother to give an answer, sometimes a senator's staff worker blames her interns for not being able to get the response from DOS mailed to me...I am SICK of all of this!

Thanks to a fellow VJer, gogo, I have found the list he posted for the USCIS Contact Numbers and I have also found this list via the DOS website: http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/111812.pdf (page 62 for London).

If I have to contact every single person on both the lists, I will, but I need to know which ones I should contact...I guess I should just pm gogo for advice...

Sorry for the vent, but we have had more than enough!

I am sorry Joe that you too are enduring this hell, hope it ends soon!

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)
