Hello All,

Does anyone know what the conditions are of the CR-1 Visa? Once spouse gets this Visa from Embassy and travels to US, how long is this Visa good for? When it expires what happens then? What if spouse gets divorced from her petitioner husband after say, 6-8 months, or less than a year? What are the immigration rules?

Please advise.

Thanks a bunch for any help provided.

Trekkin.

A CR-1 visa results in a two year greencard after arrival. The conditions are that in order to get the second greencard the marriage is suppose to be in tact. Eceptions of course apply. For example, conditions can be removed if a divorce has occured (finalized) and the applicant can prove the marriage was entered into in "good faith" and was not a marriage of convienience. Divorce does not end the USC sponsor's I-864 affidavit obligations if any.

YMMV
