Police certificates

not exactly sure if this is the correct forum here....but fiance has been waiting for police certificate since june....needed a court paper....seems most of the goverment was on vacation till this week (and this is no joke) cant believe most everyone with authority can all leave at once....anyway,

the paper was promised for august 18, which obviously has come and gone....they were informed it is needed for embassy appt. on august 21....

as of today still the paper promised for august 18, has not been given to him.....my question is can they do this? or can the embassy step in

and do something,,,,,,the interview was postponed from july because of this and rescheduled to august 21. and the authorities who are to issue

this paper were told of this.....so does he go without this paper which will certainly be a denial for lack of police certificate, do i piss the embassy

off and reschedule.....did this ever happen to anyone out there....what can we do about this....have one day left.....thanks to all in advance...

of courser the police can do this... they are doing this as a service and the embassy does not have any "pull"....

You have two choices... reschedule (I doubt the embassy will get "pissed off"... or have the interview knowing that the visa will be delayed subject to the providing of the document... dependant on the lead time to interview it might be quicker to accept the 221g.... your call...

ok...but this would be the second time to reschedule this interview....almost think taking the 221g would be better....actually i have no idea....

this whole thing is killing me......frustrated and confused....just cant believe they can deliberately sit on these documents just because they can....

Hello!

I would like to ask in which specific country you need the Police Certificate? I've lived in Taiwan for almost 2 years and I did not know that it's needed in the interview. But I had my interview last July 16, 2008 and they just require me to pass the Taiwan Police Certificate later. I just passed my Taiwan Police Certificate last Aug. 11, 2008. Right now, it's still in process. I'm just being patient. Anyway, my fiance will be here by next month but he's very anxious to have my visa.
