 Ali should be leaving the embassy right now from picking up the visa

Sitting here and waiting for him to call me to tell the good news.

Some of my last minute preparations have been cleaning (my room is not dirty, it's just a little cluttered with college and preschool stuff), getting my hair done : henna yesterday, cut and curled Saturday morning, and just preparing my heart for his arrival.

Really though since we will live with my parents till the wedding there isn't much that needs to be done. Everything that needs to be done he needs to be here for. Like picking out the furnitire, putting it together, getting more things for the house, and etc.

I have a dillema that maybe you guys can help me with. My college friends want to take me out for a fun day before I get married. They said there will no alocohol or strippers because they know me. They said it would be an all day thing and maybe even late night. They wouldnt tell me where.

I don't want to go  It will be on June 4th and Ali will be here then. I want to spend every second with Ali before he finds a job and goes to work. Also we will be preparing our house which requires the both of us.

What should I tell them ? I realllllllllly dont want to go.

Come ON Ali.... make that call !!! We're all here holding our breaths to hear the good news !!!!

As far as the plans with your friends.... well, you should just (gently) remind them of the truth. You have been separated from your love for so long and you'll have your hands full not only "reintroducing yourselves," but getting him acclimated to a whole new country, not to mention all the preparations for a wedding and a new home. So of COURSE you wouldn't want to leave him all alone all day so soon.

Maybe you could compromise and let them plan a nice lunch or brunch instead, which would only take a couple of hours. Or maybe even get them to plan an event that could include Ali and perhaps their dates/SOs.... when you could "officially" present him to the group.

Watching for your update that the Visa is IN HAND !!!!

Do you have any male relatives, or male friend of friends who could take Ali out for a (clean) guys night at the same time? My friends and their husbands/boyfriends organized something like that for us before we got married. The girls went out and stuffed themselves on ice cream, and the guys went out and played pool. My husband loved it, because he got to meet some new people who became friends later on.

10/14/05 - married AbuS in the US lovehusband.gif

02/23/08 - Filed for removal of conditions.

Sometime in 2008 - Received 10 year GC. Almost done with USCIS for life inshaAllah! Huzzah!

12/07/08 - Adopted the fuzzy feline love of my life, my Squeaky baby th_catcrazy.gif

02/23/09 - Apply for citizenship

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!

Clothes are picked out for Ali & Massouna

Bought Ali a teddy bear that says : "Somebody from Unversity of LaVerne loves me"

Four Lebanese flags are ready for the airport !

It's just a matter of waiting now ;)

As for my college friends. I went to class last night and told them, and I ended it with "I know you have all been newlyweds and understand". So what they ended up doing was taking me out to dinner last night. It was nice to spend a little time with them. Thanks guys !
