No, she has to wait for her citizenship then after she has it, she will apply for a US passport at that time. Read the guides for more information. Good luck.

My wife has a CR1 Visa. Can she get US PASSPORT?

Are you trying to see if she is eligible to get any US issued document for traveling? She might be able to apply for an advanced parole (Travel Document)

As others have stated, US passport is only for citizen of the United States.

A CR-1 visa results in an immediate greencard upon entry... no other travel document (ie.. advance parole) is needed.

YMMV

Smart answer, but what if she doesn't have a passport? or doesn't want to travel with her passport or so on. I really didn't mean she needs it, but she has an option for optaining one, if she wants US issued travel docuement.

BTW, greencard is not enough to travel around. read my post instead of jumping on me.

How would she get a CR1 without a valid passport?

Anyhow, she will have to travel with her Iranian passport until she naturalizes. I can see how this would be inconvenient, as she would be required to get a visa for countries you would not be. It makes traveling together a little difficult.

For some countries, the green card is considered a US issued travel documents. For instance, if you and your wife wanted to go to Mexico for a vacation it would be possible. Normally, a citizen of Iran requires a visa to enter Mexico, but since she has a green card this requirement is waived. I know this is true for other countries as well, but it is always best to check with an embassy of the country before traveling there.
