I called the NVC 4 times today and got the same information regarding scheduling for September. The last time I called I spoke to a rep that gave me more info than I asked. She said that today was their deadline for interview appointments for the month of September and she has not received the final paper or document from their supervisor regarding all the cases scheduled for September she said maybe by tomorrow they will receive the final document. She told me to check the automated system tomorrow for an update. I am really hoping to have an interview date soon :thumbs:

Good luck to everyone that is waiting for an interview date. :star:

It might depend on which consulate/embassy you're going through. I talked to an operator today who said interview scheduling was complete for September at the Mexico consulate. I believe this is true because for the past several months, NVC has released all appts for Mexico on the Friday of the second week of the month. So I have to wait until the second Friday in September to hear about our October appointment.

Also, I was under the impression the automated system does not get updated with interview information, you have to speak to an operator to find out. Do people from other consulates find out their interview dates on the auto system?

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter

Our NVC case completed on 8-08-08

I called last week and they told me the Cairo Embassy is usually very busy and it's backlogged now. So it is highly inlikely to get an interview appt for September, more likely it will be in October.

Today, I called again and the agent didn't have much to say other than "we still don't have a date for your interview, but please call back on Friday."

I just called the NVC and today was the last day of scheduling interviews for September in Cairo, Egypt. She said to call back the second week of September to find out when the interview is going to be in October.

Since our case was completed on 8-08-08, is there a way to estimate when the interview will be in October??

I am not sure if there is a way to estimate for October but you can call the US embassy there if you want an earlier interview date by telling them that your case was completed at NVC and wanted an earlier date if they have any opening. The rep at NVC told me to try and if they accept the embassy needs to request the case from NVC. Good luck.

I was so dissapointed of not getting her the interview for September. So this morning I just bought my wife a plane ticket to come to Texas and stay with me from Sept. 6th until Oct 5th. I asked permission to the US embassy in Cairo for her to travel on her B1/B2 visa, they replied and said yes, but only for a short periord of time, which is all we need to recharge with each other. I know it is a little risky due to the proximity of the interview, but she cannot take it anymore being in Cairo by herself and wait until October. Her stress level is so high that she is beggining to get physically sick. She is not used to life in Egypt anymore, since she resided in Qatar for the last 14 years working as a doctor.

Yeah I know how that feels but that is good that she can come and stay with you. Atleast you both would be happy. So you did ask the embassy and they said no?

No, I had email them last week just for permission to travel on B1/B2 and about status of interview. They said NVC hadn't sent our case yet, and regarding her traveling, it shouldn't be any problem just be carefull not to stay for too long. I'm thinking of asking them to email me a letter with permission, something more official, so my wife can take with her just for peace of mind in case there is a problem at the POE.

I haven't written the embassy again to ask for an earlier interview, specially now that I just purchased the airline ticket. Now I'm hoping it will not happen earlier than the 5th ;)

That is a long time to wait. It might be that the embassy has so many petitions that comes. I would recommend you to contact the embassy to see if the have any availability for the coming month. Good luck.

I know. I called the NVC and they said after all that I didn't make it to the interview for September but I can contact the embassy to check if they have an availablity and have them request the case from NVC. I called the embassy (big time difference) and was put on hold forever and ended up wasting my phonecard. I had my husband call them too and he said he had to wait for a long time. So we just agreed to leave it and wait until they assign it for us. I will call them in September to see if anything changes. Good luck everyone waiting for an interview date.

We already gave up for a September interview. Have you tried to call the NVC and ask them when is the cutoff date for scheduling at your embassy? Ours (Cairo) was yesterday and told us we didn't get in.
