At NVC - But not in IVR

I was calling the NVC today on a question about Police Certificates (they didn't have an answer) but when they asked for my case number,

I told them (since I'd been calling the IVR all day) that I didn't think it was in the system yet.

Gave them my CIS number, and they said it JUST came into the system....but when I called back with my CIS number, the IVR still says "not in our system".

BUT I do have our NVC number, and we sent the DS3032 via e-mail using the template in the Wiki.

Is there a different number I should be calling to use my NVC number?

Call tomorrow morning very early, 3-4 am, the IVR should be updated then and I suspect that your DS3032 will be generated this week.

The IVR is usually updated on Tue and Sat.

It's better to wait till the NVC rep or the IVR says the AOS fee bill and DS-3032 are generated before you pay or send choice of agent to avoid delay.

It's best to wait until the AVR generates the forms, before sending them. I think sending them before hand only creates problems, and probably an unnecessary delay.

I think it takes them about 10 to process the emails; the AVR should have generated the DS-3032 by then. So you should be OK with that.

I highly recommend you wait until the AVR generates yours bills before paying online as well. If you pay beforehand you may end up having to sort it out with a supervisor at NVC.

Grrr, I'm sure you're right....and I'm sure you know how tough it is to wait.

In a way I wish I didn't have the knowledge of the process and shortcuts...it creates such a temptation.

Thank you for your sobering words...hopefully they will help prevent any delays or disasters that my haste could cause.

At least I will have everything ready when it's the right time to pull the trigger.

That means your case is entered into the system.

I know you are excited, like I did. :-)

But, the next IVR msg says: " DS-3032 and AOS fee bill are generated and mailed to....."

Here is a wiki on the Automated Voice Messages from NVC and what they mean. So you can see Leah is correct in that the next step would be for them to generate the ds-3032, but you don't have to email it again. I beleive it takes them about 10 days to process the email. By that time they would have generated and sent the hard copy in the mail.

Take a deep breath, relax, and try to plot out your steps according to the guides. Use the Automated messages as triggers that set you in motion with the next step. It is hard to wait and be patient, but I spent that time getting the next steps ready and mining VJ for information on how to fill out the forms, preparing coverletters, etc.

YAY! They have my case too as of yesterda!. I called late last night to see and to get the case#, but the rep asked when I got my approval and I said a week ago. She sighed and insisted it would take at LEAST 4 weeks for our case to be entered in the system. She didn't even check! At least I knew she was talking out of her rear, and if we hadn't been in the AVR today I would have called back and asked a different rep.

How you guys know they update IVR every tuesday and saturday ??lol if so what times do they update??

My message still says "....wait for 6-8 weeks ...blah blah ..." even though they received my case on 8/13/08.but i did forward email DS3032 from my wife today am got auto response from NVC..

i did call few times for IIN but they say wait until its sent to beneficiary ...Don't know wat's going on ...lol

You have to wait until you hear "...NVC will mail...the beneficiary..." OR "DS3032 and AOS Fee Bill has been generated on________"

This means that they have generated the AOS bill and ds-3032. After you hear this message, try calling and asking for your IIN. They don't want to give it to you yet because they haven't generated the bill. check the AVR every day and listen for the updated status.

I use free voip calls to call NVC and access the IVR a few times throughout the day, I observed the IVR msg changes on Tue and Sat. However, if you talk to the live rep, sometime they will be able to tell you the update before the IVR changes.
