Hey Everyone!

I was just wondering if there is a way to check the status of your case with the NVC case number after it has been forwarded to the consulate. My case was approved on April 11 and my Fiancee has not received the packet 3 yet. Not sure if I've been affected by the new laws or now. *sigh*

If you have your NVC case number, the Consulate in Rio will inform you of your case status, since it takes only about a week for them to receive it from NVC.

If they don´t have it there, then you should ask them about the recall.

One tip: You don´t need Packet 3 to apply for the police certificates. You can download it from the Consulate´s website, write your name on it and be ready by the time Packet 3 comes! It takes about 10 days to get this ready from the Polices (they are 2) an you can save some time by doing this.

:)

Hi there,

We have a similar situation. Rog received our case number from the NVC in the US dated May, 5th. I have heard NOTHING from the Embassy in Rio since then. Starting to get VERY worried. Anyone knows what is going on?

Met in person for the first time: Sep, 2001

Total 8 trips Brazil/US - US/Brazil

Filed petition in January 06

NOA1: 04/17

NOA2: 5/5

Trying to schedule interview in Rio

Missing him more everyday

Well... We're in the same situation, then! And for us to know where our papers are we can do two things: call NVC and talk to an operator to find out when they sent our papers to the Consulate or call the consulate to find out if they already have our papers... Anyway, it's necessary to have patience because you may need to wait for about 40 minutes to talk to someone, either in NVC or in the Consulate!

I've been pretty upset these days, because Chris doesn't want to call NVC! He says I'm being impatient!

I e-mailed NVC and Rio Consulate twice more than one week ago and didn't get any reply so far.. Can't call Rio because the call would be too expansive for me to afford! I don't know what to think anymore... If anyone knows something, please tell me! I'm pretty frustrated with all of this!:(

ehehe :) everybody going crazy :)

Priscila, buy a phone card - R$ 30 for 5 hours conversation - and you can call NVC yourself. My fiance said I am impatient too and didn't want to call.. so I went ahead and did myself :P They don't have our case yet but at least I got an answer. In your case tho I would call the consulate because you already have your RDJ number. I am frustrated too... it feels like we are sitting out in the limbo but sooner or later we will all get there :)

PS. you could start to get somethings done, like your medical, your police certificates, exc. If you need any information, feel free to contact me as I have mine done :P

I wonder why the Service Centers have no phone number or e-mail, if the NVC never knows anything about what goes on at the USCIS, why do they tell us to call the NVC when we have some questions regarding the USCIS?!?!?
