Finally Received my Wife's Green Card..

We finally received my wife's green card...

It took nearly 3 months!! So disappointed with USCIS..

On the DS-230 they asked you a question on where do you want the green card to be delivered and my wife answered that correctly with our correct address.

On the Visa Data Summary sheet our address was wrong.. So we called the US Embassy Manila and they said its going to be fine, no hassle.

Upon POE we told the POE officer also that the Address is wrong on the Visa Data Summary sheet, she took the correct address and entered it on her computer.

After a month and still no welcome letter and of course no green card. We called USCIS and they told us, they have sent the Welcome letter to the address provided and I asked them what address was that and they told me the wrong address..

So incompetent.. I had to argue my wife's case stating why ask the question on the DS-230 if their not even going follow it.

Well the bottom line is this fairy tale story has finally ended and we finally got my wife's green card..

Thank You all for all your help... This was a great forum to share my journey..

And to others out there.. Have a safe and successful Journey..

Visa Journey has been part of my life and so as this Philippines Section...

I also had the problem with that Immigration Data Sheet thing but all was solved and the guy from USEM actually told me that..that Immigration Data Sheet "doesn't matter at all, what important is what is written in the VISA printed on your passport". I was told because I was asking to correct all of those wrong aliases they put, and the guy at USEM was assuring me that there will be no problem whatever was written in the Aliases section. I hope that will not be a future problem once I got to POE and GC process.

Congrats anyway!!!!!! :star::star::star:

and thanks for sharing :)

Just wanted to let you know..

When me and my wife saw the wrong address on the Visa Data Summary Sheet we immediately called USEM the next day and we were told the same.. No hassle, No problem..

It is true.. You will get to America Safe with no problem..

But the green card doesn't have to do anything with what USEM say..

The Green Card is handled by the USCIS.. The incompetent part is, they don't follow your answer on the DS-230..

They followed the one on the Visa Data Summary Sheet..

Here is my thoughts to you..

As soon as you get to America, keep calling USCIS to ask if they have received you Visa Data Summary Packet. If they did ask to update the address immediately.

Congrats but wow! 3 months!!! I wonder where they got the wrong address from in the first place if you'ver NEVER wrote it down wrong anywhere to begin with.

The only thing I'm thankful for is.. Lucky that the wrong address they have on the Visa Data Summary sheet did not existed.

If it did, I was told by USCIS that I am going to have to pay to re-apply my wife's Resident Card, even though it was their fault..

That there upsets me!!

And it can take 6 - 12 months for the new green card to arrive..

So lucky that address didn't existed, cause all they had to do is wait for mail to return to them so they can send it to the right address and this took 3 months of process..

Please to avoid delay.. I strongly recommend to call them..

For Visa = USEM or NVC

For GC = USCIS
